Feinstein released her proposal today, and it has NO CHANCE of passing as it currently sits.

It would essentially ban all new semi-auto rifles and handguns except for those on a list, and all weapons that meet the requirements of the banned that you already own would be grandfathered in and become NFA weapons and subject to registration, including a photo and fingerprints of the owner, plus approval from your chief LEO and a $200 tax per gun.

Also, no weapons with one, ONE, "military-style" part.

Good luck getting that passed, you crazy person.

Wow its so sad how much control there trying to put on the gun its self, when its the people behind the gun. Here a photo I got from facebook. I'm sure one day soon this would happen.

I wonder if they'll close the NFA trust route, too. It wasn't specifically mentioned but I'm guessing rates for those will go through the roof if it isn't closed. Also looks like bolt action rifles are pretty much completely excluded since it only talks about semi-automatic actions.

Aside from tube mags for a .22 what other fixed mags really hold more than 10 rounds?

Eric also just sent me a link to a video from MSNBC that states federal officials said Adam Lanza did not use an AR15 to shoot anybody, but that won't be reported, because it doesn't help gun control advocates's point.

So they're still bad, because they hold more than 10 rounds of ammo. Evil capacities always screwing everybody over...

One of my customers just sent me a link to an article where Michael Moore, yes, that Michael Moore said that gun control won't stop mass shootings because we're scared of black people. But he did note that Lanza stopped killing when police with guns showed up.

He still said we need more gun and ammo control, of course. Because there's nothing like selling out your own point by reversing everything you just said.

That one is from Dec 15th, and was a comment on an ongoing investigation, it later became clear that he brought and used the bushmaster, but left a couple of .22lr's in the car.

Hey guys. New to NASIOC and saw we have some other weekend warriors in here. I have a few guns I'm trying to sell. I have 2 Mosin-Nagants 7.62x54mmR and a 22LR Henry Repeater:

Sorry for the bad photo quality

The top one is a decommissioned sniper. Year of manufacture was 1943.
The second is a regular rifle with a rail mount for a scope and the bent bolt to function. Has a hex receiver instead of the round. Year is 1931.
And the Henry is fairly new, only been shot a couple times.
If I can't sell to anybody on here would ya'll recommend me taking them to a gun broker or FFL dealer?
Thanks

Put together some more ammo over the holidays to kill time. I think I have 200 more rounds of .308 and a new load development test batch for the .300 WM. I think I still have a box of .308 subs around somewhere but I probably won't make more of those until my Form 4 goes through.

I was talking to a coworker about the gun legislation being proposed. I'm still on the fence about it: I don't think a ban is needed but I've always been a proponent of better controls or registration. She was all in favor of an outright ban. However I pointed out that using recent tragedies as a mover for legislation is a knee-jerk reaction. If, over a period of many years and little gun violence, a majority is still in favor of a ban then so be it. I pointed out to her that a similar knee-jerk reaction put us in Iraq so this whole conservatives-vs-liberals thing is pretty hypocritical. Emotion shouldn't cloud rational judgement, isn't that really why we have checks and balances? Instead it seems like our elected officials use them for BS posturing

Of course they do. They always have. Especially now that I'm responsible for selling/transferring guns to people, I'm for tougher restrictions when it comes to background checks and waiting periods. Lately, I've had so many delays because NICS has been backed up, and nobody has been upset about waiting a day or two.

Just another reason I always tell people to print a bill of sale when privately selling a firearm. That way if the person does something with it that's idiotic, when the ATF comes beating on your door, you can prove who you sold it to.

But to the topic at hand, an all out ban on a certain type of gun because it looks a certain way isn't going to do anything meaningful, especially considering how many assault rifles are already out there. And a confiscation, or in Feinstein's words, "mandatory buy back," is even worse, because then all you'll do is take the guns out of the hands of good people who will never use them for something wrong and leave them in the hands of criminals.

Just like in Australia. Crime went up something stupid like 40% after their confiscation, because criminals knew that people who follow the law didn't have a gun to protect themselves anymore.

I've also been reloading a bunch. Got a Chargemaster Pro for Christmas, so I've been programming all my load data in it and cranking out the 40s and 45s. Tomorrow I get to start trimming up 5.7x28mm since the government bought out all the ammunition that Fiocchi was making for FNH.

Does that one let you hook it up to your computer so you can tweak settings? I wouldn't recommend the Hornady one to anyone, it overthrows all the time. I should have spent more on the one that can be programmed by a computer as I heard the profile settings allow for it to time the trickle differently (which is huge for different powder types). I'm running three different powder types when I reload and my Hornady only seems to get the TrailBoss right most of the time, but then that powder is so light that it leaves plenty of room for error when trickling.

Yep, that's the one. You have to buy a connect kit though, since it doesn't use a standard USB connector, so I haven't hooked it up yet. But I love that thing. I always load a grain or two lower and then trickle it in to be more precise.

Now that I have the hang of it after a couple hundred rounds, it's easy.

So I have all this reloading gear, but now I can't find a workbench to put it on. Shipping is out of the question and if I want something shipped to a store I am looking at at least 10 days up to maybe 30 days. Anyone have suggestions other than "build one" since that is out of the question too. I was wanting one this weekend so I can finally get going.

If you really just want to get started, go to Walmart and buy a cheap desk. Then throw it on there and start using it and take your time finding something you like.

But at least you'll be reloading.

Lowe's had the one I bought in stock. Do they no longer carry them in stock or were you looking for something else?

I've been looking for the one you got and its gone everywhere in dfw and has been since a couple weeks before Christmas.

Edit: There appears to be one in Sherman. I might have to drive up there and pick it up.

This is senator feinsteins gun ban proposal summary...

Besides background checks for person to person sales, what good is this going to do? I'm even questionable about that one, even though I partially agree with it.

So exactly what I posted nine days ago at the top of the page.

And what good will it do? In their minds, it will pull guns from the hands of psychopaths who want to murder people. I reality, it will do nothing.

The '94 weapons ban prevented Columbine, right? And while I'm being a smartass: the DC sniper will get precision rifles banned, too. He was a "sniper" so he must have been using a big, bolt gun. I'm not going to look it up because I know I'm right.
