I also don't like two-tone at all (except for FDE/black ), but that Sphinx sure is purty!

I have another Sphinx on the way, but it's the compact 380 one modeled off of a PPK. I'm at half stock just thinking about it.

Not really (hence the laughing face), I love that gun.

I would probably have to make the same 85% profit that James talked about to even consider it. (Which would mean $1100 or thereabouts, not to gouge, I just really like the damn thing.)

I'll let you shoot it though.

I can't tell you that. Must keep my secrets so that I can make money. But they usually come from guys locally who find me and are trying to get some fast cash.

I also have this for sale. Kimber Ultra Ten CDP II. Double stack 45 that they only made in the Custom Shop for a year. PIMP.

James do you come across any USP Tactical or Mk23s in your wide, wide world of handguns? I have been thinking of building that suppressed .45 lately.

I can find a Mk23 for around $2200. Tacticals are running in the $1400-$1600 range, depending on from where.

All HKs have jumped up around $300 in the past month.

F that. I guess I'll be waiting to build that. I remember when I sold my USP the Tactical was going for under $1000. Looks like there are still a few on Gunbroker going for just over $1100. Still think I can wait since the can will be another $800 on top of that. Or maybe I should go the integral .22 route (since I do love the .22). Did you ever get a can for your FN?

I stopped by Gunmaster this morning after getting an oil change at Cobb. It was packed with people looking at firearms and what ammo scraps were left. Still pretty well-stocked on bullets and powder, but brass is scarce. Fortunately Cabela's has plenty of brass and powder. Primers were out at both.

I need to hit the range next weekend. My Form 4 should be done next month and I want to do some stability tests on my new SS load. That and I haven't been out there in nearly two months

Bought a set of Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs around Christmas, but hadn't had a chance to try them. Let my father use them for his CHL class, and he liked them.

Tried them out today for the first time, and Wow! I was hearing a cow >2mi away, insects buzzing around, and every blade of dry grass crackling with the slight breeze. Yet, the AR (Which was still pretty loud with ear-plugs, IMO) seemed quite tranquil.

Color me impressed.

- 5 Stars, would recommend.

+1 to this. The HL Impacts are pretty cheap too, I think I got mine for $38 I also left them on for a week in my bag and they still worked (don't try this at home / keep spare batteries)

Mine were $46 Amazon Prime (now $49), but worth it.

They have an auto shut-off after 4hrs to save batteries. Obviously a plus.

Well, I lucked out and became one of the first people to buy the next generation Walther M2 PPQ in 9mm. Shipped out the same day. I love new toys. Especially ones I have been pining over for about 6 months now.

Really the only change is the S&W badging is gone, and they changed the mag release to be more like other guns. If you look at the classic you will see what I mean.

I went to the show for a little while Saturday. The prices are slowly creeping down on AR stuff. They're still a little behind the online prices (the market created by the forums mostly). I saw a new 6920 for $1800 that was still sitting on the table late in the day. It was next to several Daniel Defense carbines that were labeled at roughly $1800-1900. Pmags are still ridiculous, but GI mags were down to the $20 range.

Funny thing was that I noticed the Glocks were up a couple bucks. I kinda use that as a baseline for pistol prices, and the new ones were sitting on tables for $650+... maybe I'm wrong, but seems a little

I also found that the 9mm pistols seemed to be sold out unless highly overpriced (as mentioned on the Glocks). Most of the pistols in the other inferior calibers were still sitting around though.

Gun show prices are always higher than standard market value because you're paying for the convenience of it being right there, right now. So seeing ARs for sale for $1800 doesn't surprise me. Prices are almost back down to reasonable levels because the idiots that spent a lot of money on their rifles during the panic are all broke and everybody who waited isn't going to pay stupid prices.

Glocks are sold out nearly statewide from licensed distributors, so the prices are going to be high for a while. My two main Glock distributors are backordered for at least one more month, and maybe even longer. 9mm pistols are hard to find because of the fear of a ban on high capacity magazines, and since they offer the highest capacity, people are snatching those up.

I'm easily selling every 9mm I get. Usually within a day or two. I can still get 40S&W pistols and 45s all day, which is interesting on the 40 side of it, since it's a far superior round than 9mm.

As far as PMags, they're slowly getting back in stock. I have received regular shipments, but they're sold as soon as they come in. AR parts are also available again. Everything except BCGs.

Got the new Sphinx in today. It was dirty as hell when I got it, so I completely stripped it apart and gave it a thorough cleaning. The slide has some wear on it, but considering this gun was made in 1998, that can be expected.

I figure I'll actually buff off the majority of it to take off the bluing and bring the finish back down to the billet aluminum. It'll make it even prettier, and more importantly, shiny!

But it is heavier than I expected, considering that it's all heavy billet, but everything on it is machined so smoothly it's mind-boggling. No wonder these guns are so expensive.

So can anyone find 9mm in bulk anywhere?

Buddy of mine needs 1200 rounds for the academy, and I could use some myself.

Also, James, what would a Walther PPS, 9mm run me these days?

Luckygunner.com has bulk 9mm. 1000 rounds of either Federal American Eagle FMJ or Speer Lawman TMJ for $445. Not a bad price, considering how hard it is to find.

PPS in 9mm will run you around $650 plus tax/shipping. Lightly used is around $500. They're pretty plentiful and easy to find because they're not high capacity.
