8.2:1 is still there STi CR. Other models may be different. Basically it's up to you or your builder and tuner to decide on a CR based on usage and fuel quality. Those are just OTS piston options. If you wanted, you could order any dish volume you wanted to achieve your desired CR from a number of manufacturers that make custom pistons.

I think the generalize and give a few options but at the end of the day it's still the builders responsibility to run the #'s and know what dish/do me volume they need to get desired CR.

I really don't even think its that big of a deal... biggest factor is the tuner at the end of the day! My original goal was to build a better block for 1800 dollars versus just buying a new shortblock for 1800-1900 bucks, #ynansb! So far I spent 1000 to have block hot tanked, rotating assembly balanced for 10k rpm, honed and rebuilt with king bearings, plus $270 for rods, and $630 for pistons, making a total of 1900 bucks.

So i called manley and they said its based on the cylinder head volume! If you have 57cc you get the 17, if you have 51 you get the 22, that simple they said! My machine shop is measuring my head to be sure and going to let me know!
