Placed my order for an ice silver metallic wrx premium 5 door today! First subaru and first new car. I got to test drive a 2011 base wrx before the whole transaction and it seems like the estimated 12 weeks for delivery will seem like way too long. The salesman working with me didnt seem to know the car though.. He told me it was a 2.0. Also i tried to add the front lip and they told me that it was not available to order? Not a big deal since i can get one elsewhere but he gave me a preferred customer card good for 10% off all accessories plus took 1,200 off msrp for me (said that was all they could move) so im content.

Like what was posted earlier, if you ordered last week you could get good prices. I got 900 under plus invoice on options.

When I was talking to my dealer and negotiating the price, I had let him know there were people out there getting the wrx or STI for up to $1100 under invoice. He replied there is no way a dealership could make money off a deal like that, even with the holdback. He further said, maybe other people got that deal because of a trade in or something. What he was saying is, the dealership was going to make up for the sweet deal on selling the trade in. i.e. they give them a little more less then what they normally would for a trade. I can see some truth to this. I got mine about $400 under invoice with no trade in. I ordered Aug. 15th. Sedan STI.

I had no trade in. Congrats on the purchase! I think anything lower than invoice is doing pretty well.

So my dad mentioned he really liked my wrx and would like a hatch wrx as a winter car so he won't have to drive his genesis coupe during the winter. He goes to the dealer to inquire about a DGM that was in transit. The car was already spoken for, so the dealer talked him into ordering one. He tells me he ordered a DGM hatch premium for 29k and gave them a $500 deposit. This makes me extremely frustrated because; a, I told him not to pay more than 27.5k for a premium (what I paid for mine). b, I wanted to find him a used STI (mainly so I could drive it). c, Hes putting down 20k cash (must be nice). My question, does he still have time before he takes delivery to talk the dealer down on price? All I know is that he has them a deposit and the dealer ran his credit...

Mine was ordered on Aug. 15th at 235pm. Got VON and was told mid November delivery, the wait is going to suck.

2013 STI base sedan, Plasma blue pearl w/ NAVI.

Options: SPT Exhaust, SPT boost gauge, Short shifter, Front lip, Side window deflectors, 30% tint all around, and 3M protective coating. (1/2 of these I got for free, other half at invoice, tint being done at dealer cost).

Then I'll put some rally armor flaps on her til the spring when im going to drop her and put some Rotas on her cause I know we are probably going to get the same ugly Base wheels that were on the 2012s.

You can try. It can't hurt. I was able to still negotiate a few things with my dealer after the order was in. Other dealers may differ though, I'm not sure. But technically the deal isn't complete as the car isn't here yet.

Technically he agreed to a price, and signed a contract to purchase. (assuming they had him sign for the 29K price)

Trying to negotiate after you sign something and agree to something is pretty shady imho. How would the customer feel if the dealer tried to renegotiate after a price was already agreed to?

Do what you want but that is fairly unethical.

You got a very fair deal. We offered that pricing with or without a trade in btw.

Being in a place like OK, the dealers are MUCH smaller volume and cannot take deals like I was offering.

Even at 400 under you got a great deal. A dealer that is small volume should be allowed to make the 7-- bucks or so they will make off you for that price.

That's a good point about signing, Mike. I had not signed anything at that time and they said it would all be done when I picked the car up. Keep in mind this is my 2nd Subaru from them, with the same salesman, so we have developed a good relationship as well.

So many dealers are getting wrxs and STIs and I still can't find a damn picture of a 2013 base model sedan, preferably pbp. Anyone see any pics yet?

Negative. I've looked a few times at the dealers closest to port. Still stock pics.

Have had my bugeye for 170k now and I think it is time to pick up something new. I have been looking at getting a 2013 WRX Limited Hatchback. Going with the Limited to get the HID's. I was also looking at getting the spt exhaust and short throw shifter. Only reason I was thinking of getting those accessories is because they will allow me to keep the warranty happy. I have noticed that most people have the Premium model and not the limited is there a reason for this or is it just a money issue? Also any suggestions for accessories that are a must have? First time buying a new car and will probably have it for the next 10 years.

I'll throw my current quote in here for other people doing research: 29,023 including shipping, dest fee's, sts and spt exhaust.

Sounds similar to mine. Limited with spt, sts, and other little stuff (exhaust finisher, all weather mats, etc). Just a hair under 30. Went limited for leather and moon roof.

I'm guessing they don't like leather, at least I don't based mostly on the sliding and whatnot and a little on the need for upkeep.

You get a moonroof with a premium..the limited adds leather.

Saw a transport truck this afternoon around 4pm headed Westbound on the Mass Pike which was full of new Subies. Looked like 2 of them were WRX's. One was a SWP sedan, the other I think was a DGM hatch. My guess is it was coming from the Boston port and I'm assuming at this point they are 2013's. Was hard to get a good look at them as I was driving, but nothing stood out as being changed. They also still had most of the plastic wrap on too. Was going to try and snap a picture with my phone, but again, was driving. Not sure if they were someones orders, were headed to Mass dealers for stock, or somewhere further West.

I have never seen just the last 8. If he can see that, he can see the whole VIN.

I'd say it's possible. We have 8 orders for BRZ's. Allocated 5 for the year and those 5 sold in hours after it opened up. The 7th order was about a month ago(I actually think less. I forget) and is an Automatic. It is due Sept 10th(we have the VIN).

We have one of those due Sept 26(we have VIN). Has homelink mirror and short throw. Hopefully you won't have to wait that long.

They have been great to deal with, even from out of state. I pick up my PBP STI hatch from them in October!
It was one of their allocations with the options I would have chosen, had I ordered.

I decided to get the Limited, since I thought the HIDs and leather were worth it for the 1k over the Premium. I would suggest the armrest extension, I think I'd be uncomfortable with the stock one (sits kind of low IIRC).

That quote seems pretty good. After destination and such mine came out to 29,400 (not including tax) with Nav, armrest extension, rear cupholder (all at invoice).
