Check your spark plugs. Bet the gaskets are leaking. Take valve covers off to access them!

I also remember reading that the turbo HGs were less prone to fail than the OEM NA ones.

I got lucky with my '09 as my HGs aren't even seeping a little bit. Everything is dry down there as of 115k. On my '02 OBS I drove it for 30k+ with leaky HGs, just made sure the oil stayed above the L mark on the stick. Between consumption and leaking I lost about 1.5 qts per OCI. As long as the engine is lubricated and cooled, you can run slightly leaky gaskets for a while but should probably do them once you get a good quote, which should be well below 3300!!

Did you have room with the header clearing the oil filter?

I like what you did with your taillights, somewhat unique doing the insides like that.

I did a little electrical work last weekend...

Makes the stock speakers sound 10x better but the Bluetooth is the real reason I wanted to upgrade. I also got sick of how my OEM one just said "Aux" all the time since I listened to Spotify on my phone.

I'll be honest, I haven't owned a CD in probably close to 10 years.
My laptop doesn't even have a CD drive. Spotify FTW.

Nonetheless, it's a motorized display so the CD insert is behind the screen.

I've got an '07, not an '08 but still a 2.5i! 5-speed, had it since October. Loving it ever since!

I picked mine up at 48k miles and was glad to find it has the blue coolant. I don't know if this green is the typical coolant or some special Subaru version of the green coolant or what, but from what I hear, the standard green coolant will cause accelerated head gasket wear among other problems.

Reviews on the blue coolant even back up the ability of the blue coolant to block minor leaks and many owners were able to go without a head gasket job or on worse head gaskets, prolong the life until proper work can be done.

Regarding the head gasket failures, from what I know the later models it was fixed. I have a 2011 and supposedly it has better head gaskets.

Newer pics of my car since I added an STi wing.

I was thinking of some Enkei's in 17x8... Sometimes I feel like 18's look a bit big on Narrow bodies especially without the side skits/ premium bumper. Anyone with 8 inch wheels with 40 offset? Would there be any rubbing issues? I just want better fitment. I like my P1s but don't want to use spacers.

^ Looking good! Add OEM splash guard kit & OEM rear bumper under guard to make the car more aggressive since we don't have sideskirts & premium bumpers.

Which Enkei's? Not sure about +40 offset, but I've seen Rotas 17x9" +42 w/ 245/40 clear just fine.

18s can be big sometimes. Really depends on size, offset, and color.

18x8+48

Thanks for the feedback!

I was planning on getting the
E551SFG010 painted black (bumper flat black)

as well as maybe the splash guards and the 09-10 WRX grill down the road.

The wheels I was looking into are the TSP-5 and they come in 17 or 18... 18's usually look good on lowered narrow body WRX with kits or wide bodies. Look goofy on bare narrow body.

Goals for the end of the year is wheels to get a nice fitment. Maybe coilovers if the drop is not enough.

Wow, thanks. Really gives me a good idea of what it'll look like. I will probably go 17's with the TSP5's.

I have a 2010 2.5i and I really like the Tsudo exhaust, but my car's a sedan. Would it work to buy the exhaust, cut off the tip, and weld a few inches of tube in between? I was told everything was the same with the sedan and hatch, just the length is different. If not, is there any other exhausts? I can't seem to find any good sounding ones for a 2.5i hatch. Or maybe i can just save the money so I can sell my car and use that money plus the money I saved to buy a wrx instead.
What do you guys think I should do?

Since you're going to paint it, maybe look for a used one on eBay or Craigslist or even junk yard. Got mine for like $60 used & painted flat black.

FYI, even though Enkei is Japanese brand, but I think only the Racing series are made in Japan... the rest are made in Thailand or China. I'd personally rather pay a bit more for PF01 (made in Japan) which similar design as TSP-5 (made in Thailand).

Oh yeah... 17x8 +45 w/ 245/40 is perfect fitment for our car.

Yeah I'm always trying to fish Ebay for it to try to find one for under $150. I got my wing there that came painted from a wrecked STi for about $200 on ebay. Btw judging how good it looks on your car, it would look nice in my SSM as well paint to break up the ass silhouette.

Good info on the Enkei's.. I just noticed that the RPF1's (which i avoid normally since it played out) now comes in Bronze, as well as 17x7 42mm offset and 17x7.5 48 offset so I don't have to immediately change tires.

I'm wondering if those offsets will provide good fitment despite not being 45mm. My Prodrive P1s are currently 17x7 52-53 offset? and They aren't flush at all. I wish i could find 17" P1s with 45 offset

That bronze RPF1s come w/ 17x8 +45 as well... IMO, I wouldn't bother getting anything less than 8" width so you can fit 245/40. What tires & size do you have on the P1s? Are you planning to keep the P1s? If not, get rid of them w/ the tires... easier to sell.

FYI, the silver, & gold RPF1s is $23 cheaper & 0.3 lbs lighter (according to Tire Rack) than the bronze ones.

I have 215's, probably going 225, 235 tops... I'm not sure I want to go any wider.

Maybe the bronze paint is heavier? lol Either way, I like bronze since it doesn't stick out as much as gold. The design is "meh " to me and gold/ silver RPF1s are already everywhere.

would the +42 fit better than +48? the +38's in Jourdan's poke out a bit too much for me.
