Where to go for tire mounting and balancing
I have some wheels, which I need tires dismounted from, so that other tires can be mounted. The wheels are brand new and I really would like to avoid getting them scratched at all costs. Where is a good place to go for this work? Les Schwab

Oh no no no, don't go to Les Schwab. It's easiest if you just have the new tires ready when take the wheels in, and I would recommend either the Firestone dealer in Redmond, or the Goodyear dealer, also in Redmond.

Thanks. When I stopped by the local Les Schwab earlier the guy's lack of confidence was kind of scary.
Are the Goodyear and Firestone dealers in Redmond much better than the ones in Seattle? If so, how? |

I travelled to Redmond today to go the the Goodyear dealer. Gimpster was right, they are definitely OK. Very courteous people and they did good work. I expressed concern about my new rims getting scratched and they were very polite about it but scoffed at the idea of it being a possibility. Not like those clowns at Les Schwab who got me paranoid to begin with, when said they'd do the job anyways but it would take 2-3 hours and don't be surprised if your wheels get nicked and scraped in the process.

Glad you had a good experience, they're going to be seeing my gold Euro 17" WRX wheels later this week. As for your earlier question about them being better than the ones in Seattle, I don't know they're the only tire stores I've ever used here.
