These cars are no different than the ones I detailed as a profession 20 years ago. Cover the the alternator, any exposed intake filter, pick your engine bay cleaner, and get to pressure washing. You just showed people how to wipe your butt.

I learned the hard way and did not cover my alternator. Car was shaking after I let it dry.

All was good eventually.

I learned that you always keep the car running when cleaning the engine bay, is this still true for our modern cars today?

Not referring to this video, but in general when using a pressure washer or hose.
