Default V5/V6 EJ207 into usdm 2002 wrx

well, last night I bought a 2002 wrx wagon that has an EJ207 almost done being installed. Engine is in, but the previous owner never got it running. I believe it is a V5 or V6 because he had to change out the ignition system and use the usdm coils, as well as change the crank gear and sensor, knock sensor, and cam pos sensor. if it was a V7 or V8 it would have plugged in from what i gather. Anyway, he told me the only reason it doesnt run is because he needed to use the usdm intake manifold for the usdm ecu to recognize some control...i dont remember what right now but I can compare the two manifold tonight after work. The problem is that the usdm manifold wouldnt bolt to the ej207 heads? does this ring a bell to anyone? it would apparently run in limp mode otherwise.

anyways, if anyone could point me to any technical or other swap info for this case, please let me know! thanks!

On second thought, I am thinking that I should have the TGV flashed out of the ecu, and use the JDM manifold. I was warned that the intercooler won't line up, but I'll have to check. anyone else have any help?
