There is. Tadge Juechter, the designer of the C8, also designed the Aztek, IIRC.

The Aztek guy is there too...wow
Bryan Nesbitt (PT Cruiser and HHR) is their head of international design so I guess they're recruiting the best lol

Lots of seasoned, rancher Duramax guys will tell you the trucks can overheat.
This is where function trumps form. This move, from an engineering perspective is all about cooling.
It trumps it with big old boots. Definitely high on function, but wow, at a lot of cost to the form. Odd to see the interior otherwise simple. Like a larger version of the colocanyon interior, which is not a bad thing imho.

GM needs to overhaul all of their design teams. It’s like they are going out of their way to make homely exteriors and fisher price interiors. Surely someone at GM must have enough common sense to know that styling matters?

Most all styling these days from any mfr, truck or car alike, is over the top. The colo interior is quite good, has it in all the right places, I like the simple style of the of the interior and it works well. Same for the exterior, its subdued and simpler.

That said, the tendency is to go over the top in lieu of getting some actual styling talent, giving the focus groups the bangles they want, and play it safe and not take chances. They are responding to what people want and buy, sad that these things are what the public at large wants.

That's exactly what I was thinking and was going to bring up if it hadn't been, yet.
