This will surely spark the sales of the Crosstour. Clearly the problem was a lack of 4 cylinder engine and had nothing to do with the fact that even Subaru owners find it pretty ugly and that's saying something.

So basically 28k for a ugly, slow and oversized accord there's a winner.

We have a 2010 Accord Sedan that my wife drives and I would disagree that adding a 4 cylinder Crosstour with most of the options standard will increase sales significantly.
We test drove one before buying a 6 cylinder sedan and disliked it quite a bit. The biggest problem we both had with it was rear visibility. My suspicion is that most people who test drove both will make the same call which is the real reason for their poor sales numbers. If they had come out with it in the base (low option) 4 cylinder configuration at maybe $22,000 they might have picked up a decent amount of sales but the $2600 difference between the 4 cylinder ($27700) and the 6 cylinder ($30700) Crosstour makes the choice easy once you actually test drive both becasue the 6 cylinder is way nicer to drive. Anybody who can afford $28K can probably come up with enough extra money to make 10% higher payments. Honestly, I don't see that they have gained anything by adding the 4 cylinder option. |
