My prediction is most people average around 24-25 mpg in real world driving, not babying it or taking a road trip, measured with the "use a calculator at the gas pump" method. Seems like a lot of the newest cars in the real world get 2-3 more mpg than the EPA city rating, rather than a little bit less than the highway rating.

The EPA changed how the various loops work back in 2008. Most relevant to the city-loop testing, there are now acceleration rates up to 8 mph/sec, where they were previously restricted to 3.3 mph/sec. Maybe it's now more aggressive than how some people actually drive?

Edit: I'm really interested to see what people do with the 2.3L EB engine. If it can spin a GT30-sized turbocharger without completely ruining the response, it seems like a great alternative to the 5.0.

Perhaps some tuner or Ford Racing itself can offer a sequential twin turbo system for the 2.3L EB engine in the future.

It's super complicated (2 vs 5 cycle, "litmus test" etc), but basically they just changed the fudge factor used to calculated the adjusted fuel economy. It's the same test cycles (FTP75, highway, US06, SC03, cold CO). The weighting of those cycles is what ended up changing.

$41K and no PP? Owie. I assume by this time next year there'll be incentives to bring that down? Not that you really need anything from the Premium trim...

$1,200 is the automatic transmission there is half your PP right there.

Seeing as I'm averaging 18 mpg that is looking pretty good to me. I should be able to get low 20's if I buy one.

Right...and still no Recaros? FORTY THOUSAND dollars, for a Mustang. That's okay with you? ~$36K for the base GT with PP and Recaros sits better, especially when the base Ecoboost with PP and Recaros flirts with $30K.

A lot of people have said the new base seats are considerably better than the old (that have sat in the car) and are considering changing their mind back to the regular seats.

Still, a premium GT with PP and the red leather interior is $39,xxx. Figure you can get it down a few thousand but still not a small chunk of change.

I think of this new Mustang as a real car now - not just a cheap muscle car. A nicely appointed Vette is about 70K now, ground beef is 6 bucks a lb and real milk is 5 bucks for a half gallon... inflation sucks without wage growth.

I only care what mileage the GT350 gets.

ok, that's a lie. I walk to work. It can be 10mpg for all I care.

Odd. It shows that car to have a build date of 30.11.0002. What is the year 0002?

5 bucks a half gallon????? it's under 5 a gallon here

Also, food for thought with the Mustang price. Seems with not much haggling you can get the price down to invoice or under. If not, there's X-plan which will save you about 3k off msrp on a Premium GT w/ PP. If I were to get recaro's I wouldn't be going premium. My order I'm saving a little over 4k off MSRP as of right now. It won't be less than that but I can still save more.

Their system must be jacked up at the moment as this is normally an extremely reliable site for Ford vehicle info.

I imagine the date you have is much more accurate.

No worries, I don't have any special info. I'm just looking at the sticker. On the very bottom you'll see the dates I mentioned, as well as the top above the word Blend. which if i remember correctly regards the build date. All this info is also found VIA the S550 6G forums.

People spend that on an Impreza with no Recaros.

I'm jealous that you guys can already build and order.

Canadian Ford site doesn't even list prices, but I can guarantee the Ecoboost will be a lot more than 32K.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing here from Ford, except the lack of Grabber Blue.

Sits fine with me, I’d spec the heated and ventilated seats anyway. A coupe optioned how I’d want would be low 40’s and a vert which is what I’d probably get would be mid-40’s. You can get one cheaper but I like fully optioned vehicles.

Agreed! A co-worker of mine bought a '14 GT.. One ride in that thing, and the stock suspension is SCARY! He hit second gear, the thing squatted and wanted to go to the right pretty abruptly. Just felt kind of disappointing. His has the brembos / leather interior, but I'm pretty sure it has whatever the run of the mill stock suspension that was offered.

I would not even consider this car without either a factory upgraded suspension or some type of proven aftermarket alternative. It def. didn't feel very inspiring if you really wanted to push it around the corners.

Hopefully the '15s are more stable with the new rear setup? I could see myself buying one after they've been out for a while...

yeah, no PP on that white car in the video. The PP will have stiffer handling, but will it be enough? It'll be interesting to see the turbo with the PP reviewed as well.

You can't throw heavy spring rates onto a live axle.. too much unsprung weight to control by the shocks if you stick them to a stiff spring. The key to tuning a live axle mustang is to stiffen every bushing up, throw in a Watts linkage if you have the $$ and spend money on very good shocks with lots of low speed dampening.

2016 Ford Mustang GT350 Badge Leaked Confirming High-Performance Mustang

Ebh37.99

We've seen several spy photos of the SVT high-performance version of the all-new, but there hasn't been a confirmation about what it will be called, until now. A leaked picture of a GT350 badge has surfaced online, which confirms that the high-performance Mustang will be called the Mustang GT350.

Thanks to Mustang6G we now hopefully know what the high performance Mustang will be called, but now have to wait to see what will power it. It's expected that the 2016 Mustang GT350 will be powered by the same 5.0L V8 as the, but will be upgraded to around 500 horsepower.

The 2016 Mustang GT350 will also get a more aerodynamic body kit, upgraded exhaust and wider fenders.
