The Big E sounds like a great location. Or any of the race tracks mentioned. The Big E is able to handle just about anything we could come up with.

What date are you guys thinking about for the WBM07? Figuring the tracks listed would be great but might be tough to get during the summer, I think knowing a date might make it easier.

Great Adventure/Six Flags could be a really fun place? And it's easy to get to. LRP is a great idea but it's not like we'd have track access so it's probably not worth the effort. Otherwise Gillette is a great choice. Too bad RA is gone.

I belive the Bayside Expo and Gillette are out. Bayside charges for union labor. And Gillette was to expensive.

The Big E I think is a pretty good suggestion. I don't think it would be very friendly on the wallet though...

Something like Gillette or one of the listed college campuses would be good.
UCONN, UMASS, Spencer Fairgrounds. Wachusett - Sure, it'd be nice for scenic pictures, but remember that there's going to be over 1000 cars most likely, and I'm pretty sure the summit can't hold that many. Limerock or equivalent speedway - I thought this was discussed in an earlier thread and the decision was that WBM wasn't going to include auto-x or racing because of the number of people and broad range of skills, etc. I wouldn't recommend the new Hartford Expo center. I heard they aren't the best with "smaller organizations" |

Top of a mountain in Vermont? *ducks*
Are there any car-friendly fairgrounds? Stratham (NH) or Topsfield, MA? How about the grounds of something like Star Speedway in Epping, NH? Two of those are "north of the Mass/NH border", but they're the type of spots that might be good - small enough to not charge top dollar, but big enough to host the event. How about the lot at New England Dragway? They probably wouldn't give us the place on a June Saturday without drag racing.. |

I mentioned the Weymouth Air Base earlier. It's a tiny bit smaller than Logan.

How big do you need? maybe a college campus parking lot? Nhctc in nashua has a relatively big http://maps.google.com/maps?q=google...07135&t=k&om=1
This is the tech in nashua, and they are always trying to get people to come look at the campus. From my experience last year, It was a nice family friendly atmosphere. Plus, all you can eat indian food within walking distance. |

Topsfield Fairground has hosted the NSOCC Antique car show for many, many years, and I don't think it's cost prohibitive to rent either. It has lots of dry parking areas even during wet weather, tons of indoor space for seminars/vendors/food, the restroom facilities are good and there is tons of room for general parking. There's lots of grassy/shady space to hang out in, and after attending over 100 shows/meets this year, I can safely say, tarmac parking lots get pretty uncomfortable when you spend a whole day in them. Lastly, it's simple to get to via Routes I-95 and 1.
Anheuser in Merrimack could be another possibility, I'm not sure what their criteria is for holding an event there. We went to a car show to benefit Make-A-Wish this summer, it was a great place, one of my favorites. |
