How is your history project? Is this the red fiberglass GM product?

Default Air Suspension Install

Does anyone know a shop that install Air Suspension? looking at a few systems for my 2016 WRX and looking for a reliable shop.

Also, if you have Air Suspension currently.. What are your thoughts on ride qualify with MI POS roads?

thanks

I believe Air Lift suspension is located in Lansing. On their site they have a "find a vendor" feature and a box you can check to locate installers.

Our roads are so terrible even air ride can't make them tolerable but for the price I would go with a set of Ohlins , Billstein or KW/RCE 2 way coilovers over bags

I've been bagged for over a year, call Jamie at The Hot Rod Shop in Troy, he did some custom work for me and is an authorized installer.

FYI installs are 1k+ its not terribly hard to do yourself if you take your time.

Honestly my bags ride better than any coils I've had on any car, mind you for the price you can definitely get top end coilovers and I would if you plan on tracking the car.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a local machine shop that specializes in Subarus? Going to be building my block soon and was looking for somewhere to get my heads resurfaced

Possibly BCP in Livonia, if they don't do it in house then they can probably tell you who may be able to.

So the customer engines that I have built were all done by these guys prior to their relocation. Plan is to do mine there later this year.

They do it in house, along with the break in and tuning for the new block. I asked them about it, not cheap, but they do good work in my experience in dealing with them.

They don't need to be resurfaced unless they're out of spec, which is 0.002" or 0.05mm over the entire surface, iirc

Arpke or Schrager might have 5 speed transmissions.

For anyone else curious, they do not do cylinder head resurfacing in house, then send them to IAG.. back on the hunt for a machine shop

Yeah, what Gigs said. At least you know they know what they are doing as opposed to trying to find a shop and possibly spending money and not being satisfied with the work.

So when is the next meet up? I realize I need more subaru friends to talk about car stuff. My current friends are v8 classic car people. It's not the same.

April...that's far enough in advance that I might be able to put it on the calendar and attend! How well the roads have been repaired by that time will determine whether or not I bring the boxer engine'd vehicle.
