Sure, although my Flickr page isn't that well organized. I have a small set that is specifically automotive (not my best work) but I will add more to it in the next few days. Here is the link.

Got and did some shooting for a little while today. I liked how some of the greyscale images came out.

A few questions:
Does the lens flare work here?

I tried to highlight this portion of the interior- critiques on composition please.

I tried to do a bit of split toning here- never worked much with that in the past. (Armin I watched that video you posted on your new website and was inspired to try it). I think it makes the photo have a nice feel to it. Critiques welcome as I am just another normal guy that really wants to improve.

i gotta try the same, last one looks great, what'd you do exactly for post processing/?

i think the glare would work if the glare wasn't on the car, but if the car was on one side ad the glare was covering another part of the picture, you know? then again i'm a newb so disregard everything i say

IMO just edit out that lens flare, I don't think it's really working for that photo.

Newbie here, Went on a super quick shoot with my friend and his Saabaru. Out of 93 photos I think four are worthy of my portfolio, here are two of those.

I really wish the hood was down in the first shot. I have the same set up as you but haven't used my 50mm for any automotive stuff. I'll have to try it out.

Had a chance to take a few shots recently. Comments appreciated.

I pretty much don't use my 50mm f/1.8 but thought I'd try a front shot with it and again at 105mm f/5.6 (with the 18-105 kit lens). The bokeh is fantastic at f1.8, really makes me wish I could afford a 70-200mm f2.8.

I think i'm going to need to get photoshop soon I'm tired of running into limits of what I can and can't remove with Lightroom. I have another shot or two from that set with parking lines in them but can't get the colors/shadows right when removing them.

no offense i hope you don't mind but i was using ps elements to show you how well it gets rid of distractions and at $75 it's well worth the price compared to the CS programs.

This one's a hit on tumblr right now, but does that mean its good? What would you change?

Thanks.
I like the B&W quite a bit, but I wish the car was a bit sharper seeing as that's the subject. I like the minimalism of the composition, but I do find that some of the light poles are a little distracting, particularly the one closest to the camera.

The color shot is also composed pretty well, but I don't like how parts of the car are cut off, specifically the tip of the exhaust and the top tip of the spoiler.

I don't think the flare works here because there's so much of it and it's all over the subject. On top of that, since you did a split tone conversion, the nice warm glow of a sun flare is somewhat lost.

I don't like how the shift knob is so close to the top of the frame. I would usually make the detail on the top of the shift knob the focal point and put it at a thirds crosspoint.

I like this split tone a lot, but I don't like how the car isn't quite level. Despite that, the photo is a bit heavy on the left side, even though it's leaning a bit right. This is one instance where you can do a nice tight crop on the car and not have to worry so much about rule of thirds.

Cool, added! As for the photo, I like the composition a lot, but I feel like it'd be a bit more powerful with some true blacks and a little more contrast. You've also got a little bit of banding in the top left corner, so maybe ease up a little on the vignetting. I'm also not sure what that angled "shard" looking thing is at the bottom left.

Your first photo has one major flaw...there's a sign growing out of the vehicle. I also feel you could probably crop it a little tighter if you're going to go for a more centered composition.

The calendar photo would look better if you had the car at the top left thirds crosspoint. Overall it also seems a little soft as well.

The car's a bit too close to the bottom edge in both photos, and if you're going to use a flash, you really need more than one to make the lighting even. What you've done here instead is only light up the very front of the car, which has caused some awkward shadows and mixed white balance. Honestly I think these would look better with simply a longer exposure and no flash used at all. Oh, and a polarizer would've helped quite a bit too.

The background works, but the car is a bit too close to it and since you don't have more than one flash to really create some background separation, you've got a photo that doesn't even have bokeh to create background separation with your ***402;1.8 lens. The hood really should also be down in the first shot.

The 50mm shot looks like it's leaning to the right a little bit, and since it's at 50mm compared to 105mm, the car looks a bit more fat. You also need some polarizer for the windshield on both shots.

As for the last shot, I don't mind the guardrail so much as how dark the photo is overall. Jeff's edit is a good example of how good it can look with a bit more exposure. If you keep it as dark as it is, I think the car just kinda gets lost with everything else because of the tones involved.

Pretty good, especially given the conditions! They're all nice and sharp, but given the rain, I probably would've used a little warmer white balance. Also, don't forget to use your polarizer on the track too
