Dang! You guys convinced me to buy some ceramic spray on. I am using Pinnacle, as I have only used Pinnacle for the past 15 years. I am sure it is all made in the same factory anyway. I will let you know how pinnacle black label works. Thanks for pushing me over the edge.

I recall when that Nufinish was very popular. Glad to hear it lived up to all the commercials. Recall running a car through 100 car washes and the water still beads!!!
Good times |

I disagree. They'd certainly add a set of forged BBS unique to the STi, that alone would command at least that price bump. Then take into account a more powerful engine, STi tranny and AWD system. Some sort of nicer interior bits maybe. And STi badge alone can bump it another thousand, no way, in this economy? at the very least 5K more. |

Guess what. Ceramic is the only way to actually protect matte paint, and matte PPF.
So there. Wax sucks. Wax is pretty useless on windows, wheels and brake calipers, not to mention short lived on paint. Dr. Beasley's is good stuff. |

after 2007 the base STI never got forged wheels, you had to go for a higher trim. so yeah, I stand by my statement that the STI would probably start at only $3k more than the GT trim. once you get to the STI trim that would have forged BBS wheels, you're probably talking Audi RS3 price comparison territory, which comes with the same issue the WRX has, at the base trim, it's a enticing offer against similarly costed competition, but once you get to the higher trims, the similarly costed competition really makes you need to question your sanity. Subaru has been really great about taking features that used to be what made the cars such amazing value propositions and making them cost added features. and you never noticed it happening but then, the base trim is usually a great offer in the price comparison, so if Subaru had a STI for the VB and you didn't mind getting aftermarket wheels because the stock wheels would probably weigh the same as a tank, it's would have been a great deal. |

Have never ever heard of that , but I am sure you have to explore unique avenues with Matte paint - beautiful M2 - be careful S6 might see it and have a basement breakdown and tell you how the vb sells more so it's better

i was recommended it in a Weber grill group ... supposedly works for high temp
applications like car exhausts. i just did the stainless exterior parts ... hood, side tables, cabinet, etc. ... nothing inside the grill, or the SS grates. grill exterior still looking good after 2 years. i initially questioned buying an all SS grill thinking it would probably be a nightmare to keep looking nice, but it hasn't been an issue. |

I guess you are right about the wheels. I had a Launch Edition so that doesn't count. But then what would be the point of the GT if for another 3k you get a more powerful vehicle with way better transmission and AWD system and perhaps even adaptive dampers as standard on the STI and . The only way it would make sense is if the base STI didn't have the adaptive dampers and they were a very expensive component. From what I've read they're surprisingly cheap to replace OEM. Not like German or something. So even the adaptive dampers wouldn't be enough to offset to 3k in my opinion the added mark up that would come with a more powerful STI engine, tranny, and awd. Also if you say adding the forged BBS would put a top trip around RS3 territory then that means you must agree with me about 55k being STI money lol because forged BBS would be around 5K. and RS starts around 62K.. But, at the end of the day, what are we even arguing here? I said 50-55K, you're saying Nah more like 48-53K, so a 2k difference, that's what's going on here? lol Subaru really got us bored af |

Next gen would be probably in 3/4MY ? And if Subaru is not actually giving us a proper STI, then it'll be just more aesthetic editions until then. I want a manual, specially for nostalgic purposes once they're all gone by next gen. But this WRX doesn't scream I HAVE TO HAVE IT. Type R/ S and Elantra are FWD. Not a fan of little egg on wheel GRC. Golf R killed the manual. That leaves the M3 rwd. So I've starting considering the new Golf R 8.5, RS3, and M340i. Not manuals, but so much more car than this WRX. Granted more expensive, but I can go up to RS3/340 level. But the m340 going to start losing value like a Tesla as soon as you drive it off the lot. RS3 hold it's value way more but thing takes a million years to deliver and any markups would be hell no. I just don't know if it's even worth it for the performance if at this stage in my life i'm just a boring dad that wants to cruise and shift some gears. So here I am considering a galaxy purple tS |

you're also not mentioning that the RS3 has a timer on the ownership that is based on the factory warranty, or how long you're willing to deal with an extended warranty company. buddy who had a RS5 spent the last 3 months he owned the car with it in the dealership for a suspension issue that ended up being over $40,000 in parts/labor to hunt down, and he had to fight with the extended warranty people the whole way. 2 days after he got it back the last time he drove it to a BMW dealer and replaced it. if you're serious about the WRX, then looks don't bother you, so get the GRC, it may be a jelly bean of a looker, but it's fun to drive, the passenger interior space is smaller than the WRX, but the cargo area is easier to live with, and a bit bigger than the WRX. |

RS3's are pretty reliable and hold their value very well. Easy to work on too, not Subaru easy but easy enough to own out of warranty.
The A4/5 series Audis are a different story. Those V6's have issues and tougher to work on and depreciate like bricks. |

yeah for sure, that's why I've never owned German. Figured since I'm in my late 30s I'd want to move into bigger and better things which is why I'm looking into them. But spending that much money and going through horror story like that is not something I'd want to deal with. Like I'm comfortable, but not 40K for a service comfortable. Hence, why I'm still considering this WRX bucket after all... I'd prefer more space in the backseat for child seats than trunk space. GRC loses there. I actually saw a GRC and sat in it when I serviced my Sienna a while ago. They're nice, but I've never been a fan of really small Europeans style hatches like that. anyway, we'll see. A WRX also means I have room to invest in a cheap rig for offroad adventures and call it a day. |
