Default version 7 sti parts on usdm ej20

wassup guys i got a 2002 wrx with the stock ej20 in it. my friend recently totaled his wrx and it had a jdm version 7 sti motor in it. my question is is there any parts worth taking off his motor that i would be able to use that would at least be an upgrade to my car.

Yes take the whole thing! I believe everything on the V7 STI was forged plus its an EJ207. If you could, swap everything over.

if you buying pieces then i guess it would be most benefical to purchase the heads. you can mate them with the ej205 shortblock and kinda have a poor man's ej207 swap but the bottom end would be weak but can be modified with aftermarket parts.

all in the end it's better just to buy a longblock and call it a day.

the ej207 v7 i a far better motor than yours......You will need the ecu with it too. and some extra wiring to run the avcs but it's easy. I don't recommend running it without the avcs thought cause it sucks

Get the entire engine plus the ECU and what ever harness he's using. The V7 EJ207 is a sheer joy to command.
