to add to that previous post, RD audio is doing a presale on new versions of their subs and amps for some absolutely sick prices

http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/f...splay.php?f=35

the 1750.1v2 is $309 shipped, puts out around 2.2k-2.4k rms.

the 1000.1v2 is $199

$250 for the alpha 12 inch subs, 1500 rms. $280 for the 15. $239 for the 10

I hear a LOT of good about the RSD gear listed above... for the money, it's like a sore wang, can't beat it..

I can't remember 100%, but I think one of our senior members here Lastresort, gave up his Image Dynamics idMax 12, for an RSD 12... Don't hold me to that though, he found something he liked better than the idMax, which supprised the crap outta me... lol..

LR, you reading this??

Alpine PDX 2.150 and 1.600 in the NASIOC classifieds, used, but member rating of 16, so he's gotta be a decent seller... 250 and 300$ respectively..

I was looking at a similar unit, the Blaupunkt New Orleans. Basically looking for something with USB and color changing to face to match my dash.

Anyone have thoughts on a comparison between the two?

It could be nice, i've never been a Blau fan, they have been soooooo ugly for soooo many years, I just lost it for them...

However, that one DOES "look" nicer than the Clarion... In looks, I can't say any more about it...

I can already see differences... clarion had a front mount USB input, Blau - rear.. Clar has 6v RCA outputs, Blau - 3v.. I can't find anything about the Blau and it's crossover... I doubt it's a 3way like the Clarion, and I doubt it has Time Alignment like the Clarion..

Not, I don't like the Blau at all... lol...

Ya, that's definitely one of the downsides to that Clarion. Looks pretty crappy in my eyes, but can't beat the price.

I have been seriously considering this I bet no one will think about stealing it, especial if I put next to a RS black pocket with flip down lid all black in a 03' WRX from a distance it might just look stock enough and it fits my install theme of bang for the buck.

Ya, i'm liking it more and more too. The 6v preouts make me happy too considering I want to go with a full amped setup and I have some tweeters I'd like to run that have been collecting dust for awhile now.

I think the major down fall of this system is it only has a 3 ch EQ. IIRC its is a parametric EQ but only 3 Ch.

Given that I want to stage my install this works for my plans.

I just look at it as less ways to mess the sound up.

I noticed the unit is factory reconditioned. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it really that big of a deal?

haha good point.. I like to twiddle knobs based on the recoding quality, which I haven't been able to do scene my last car and its install but I'm getting off topic.

This is the best price I have found for this head unit by $25 to $50.

Nope. Never built a speaker in my life. Thought about it though.

I just figured, eh, $10 plus about $16 to ship... sell 'em off REALLY cheap to people building speakers... *shrug* You have to buy something cheap but stupid, occasionally. My wife's a yard saler, she does the same thing.

A coworker suggested rigging them up around the outside of my house, to scare away the annoying neighbor's dog.
