The roads seem fine in Hopkinton. I plowed out the driveway while my son took off on the snowmobile. He comes walking up the driveway with the helmet. Got it stuck in the cemetary down the street while breaking trail. Let off the gas and it nose dove right into the snow. I went down and plowed 1000 feet of cemetary road and pulled the sled home (pull cord had also broken while he was trying to get it out). Maybe an hour with the bucket loader moving snow around to gain access to a shed behind the garage. Roofs are all blown off, so maybe 8 inches on them. I can't say how much snow we have, because the winds have blown stuff around so much. Couple feet maybe. Light and fluffy, so great for plowing.

Anyone else go for a joyride this morning? It is absolutely epic out there. People are skiing on the streets.

I may join them after I clear my driveway. My back yard has what looks like a 4 foot drift, and nice haven't even started. I'm going to make a snow hotel later, I think.

I'm going to get suited up now. Wish me luck.

We leveled around 28" here.

Along with some 40"+ drifts.

I was out until midnight or so last night. I gave up when I couldnt see anymore. Then as I was heading home I passed a MSP who yelled at me to "Get the **** home" via bullhorn.

Was out driving in all of it this morning around 7am because I had to bring my wife to the ER.

This is what it looked like when I headed out this morning

Parking garages are nice

On the way back I took this while waiting for my Coffee at the Dunken Donuts drive-thru, so glad they stayed open

Over 3' in Milford. They haven't even thought about touching our street. It's just an ocean of white.

Been watching my neighbor shovel for hours. I can't tell what he's shoveled and what he hasn't. The wind just keeps whipping the snow around.

Since 1998 we lived in Southie and parked on the street - on a hill, no less. With cars on both sides of the street there was no place to put the snow - brutal.

Then we bought a driveway in Dot - a garage and house were included! So now I know right where my car is....

Before and after storm.

That is a serious piece of machinery.
I have a drift just outside my back door (which is the main entrance for my building) that is taller than all of my snowblower.

And now I'm taking a break for some grilled mother****ing cheese.

Had a great moment this afternoon with the Subaru.

Living in downtown Cambridge/Boston, people just shovel their snow into the road and make an absolute mess of the side streets. I got my car out early and was gone while this was happening, but when I arrived back on my street a Jeep Liberty had gotten stuck on the street in one of the many 1/1.5 foot mounds of snow shoveled back into the road. When Jeep guy and his girlfriend got free and I asked them to back out instead of sitting around blocking the one way road () the following conversation ensued:

Me: "Did you get stuck down there? Can you back out so I can pull in?"
Jeep guy: "You don't want to go down this road, I just got beached. A plow just got stuck and backed out."
Me: *looks down the road* "Yea, I live on this street, I'll get over that no problem."
Jeep guy: *looks at his awesome off-road car followed by a smug expression* "No way. Good luck."
Me: "Alright, take care."

I had zero problem pulling down the road and into my snowed-in drive way all the while the guy waited at the end of the street to watch

It's amazing how people just don't know how to drive in snow. I saw one person approach their driveway which was completely shoveled except a 1 foot section that had maybe 6 inches of snow. They could've easily carried some speed and plowed right through it, but instead they approached the driveway, came to a complete stop on top of this section of snow, and got stuck when their bald tires sunk right into the snow and could not get anywhere.

Exactly what this guy was doing. He was at a standstill at WOT, just sinking

Just heard that we may not see plows, but pay-loaders, in the next few days here in Milford (my father-in-law said they did the same in '78).

And also heard that even if they lift the state-wide travel ban (CT) many of the individual towns will still have a ban in effect (Bridgeport, for one). I was supposed to be on stage right now for Black Rock Mardi Gras! grrrr

Went by the same CT state trooper twice while out doing a gas run for someone who lost power and couldn't get out. Second time by the cop he gave me a WTF with his hands and face. All I could think was "Come get me...if you can" LOL
