Default What are the differences between a 2002 WRX and 2004 WRX's wiring harness?

I bought a '04 wrx without the engine harness (Have the intake harness on the block & ECU) but nothing more..
I found an '02 wrx harness and am looking to use that.
The swap is going into an '02 RS
I'm just wondering if the '02 harness will plug into the harness on the block and the ECU from the 2004.

Thanks
Jake

With a continuity checker and a helper you can check for a one to one electrical correspondence between harnesses, probably within a half hour, assuming no splices or wire to wire shorts inside the harnesses.

For a thorough check for a mythical three connector (C1, C2, C3) harness with 5, 4 and 3 pins in each, respectively, the checking sequence is:

C1 1 to C1 2
C1 1 to C1 3
C1 1 to C1 4
C1 1 to C1 5
C1 2 to C1 3
C1 2 to C1 4
C1 2 to C1 5
C1 3 to C1 4
C1 3 to C1 5
C1 4 to C1 5

repeat for each connector, then repeat for
C1 to C2
C2 to C3

You can see how rapidly the number of tests is increasing.

If there are diodes in the harness, double the number of tests.
