Default Where the hell is my fumoto valve?

I ordered it on Friday and it's not here yet.

The gerbsmobile is getting frisky. I don't know how much longer she'll go without me jamming teh anus w/ Mobil 1 0w-40.

Hopefully it'll come tomorrow. I didn't think i was going to take this long for a little piece of metal.

Um, for those who do their own oil changes on 2004 Subaru turbo models, either with or without fumoto valve (YES!! 2004 only. subaru used a different size this year) ;

1. What brand Oil Filter did you buy
2. Where did you get it?

These are the ones we can use on our 2004s:

SUBARU OEM OIL FILTER: 15208AA080
PUROLATOR OIL FILTER: L14612
FRAM OIL FILTER: PH6607
WIX OIL FILTER: 51365
K&N OIL FILTER: HP-1008
AMSOIL OIL FILTER: SDF13
AC DELCO OIL FILTER: PF1237

I was going to buy a Purolator (Sears carries "them all") but they didn't have the L14612 out of the ~50 different ones made just by Purolator. Grr

I shall try NAPA tomorrow.

har har har. kinda not off-topic but the title is so .. *shrug*

I made that mistake on my TS. Went and bought 2 filters from the dealer and when I took 1 out of the box, it had purilator plastered all over it.

whatever, it'd be nice if they didn't jack up the price of it though. $5.99 instead of $2.99 - Oh well, 3 bucks.

I'll check napa tomorrow and if they dont have anything, back to the suby dealer it is. Luckily suby dealer is like 1.5 mi away

get it straight-- FRAM sucks balls, Purolator does not. nothing at all wrong with the OEM filter.

having your oil changed by the dealership is generally not remotely in the league of having it done by quick-lube monkeys. dealerships are typically a tad more reliable.

Yeah, FRAM is out of the question. All the complaints and stuff totally steer me away from that crappy company.

I'd rather do it myself anyway

Cheap. Fun. EZ. *wee*

Yep, OEM is Purolator. Good filters. I go 5k on synthetic. Fumoto rocks, need to get another for the RS.

Seriously, do a search in the right forum and you'll find a part # and everything. The info is all there.
