Sick-ass bug, holy crap that is sooooo f'n cool!! Damn, I'll bet you've surprised the hell out of some folks. 1796 lbs, it must absolutely rip...I can't even imagine.
Besides the motor, great job on the rest of the car. That's definitely one of the best looking bugs I've ever seen, nice.

Cooling was the biggest challenge, however, I have it nailed down now. I am using 2 radiators.

The main (C&R) radiator sits just behind the relocated rear firewall. That gets it air via 2 air ducts from underneath the vehicle. This rad also has a big SPAL fan triggered above 90C.

The other radiator is actually a Fluidyne oil cooler. This is the guy you see on top of everything in the center. It gets its air from the roof's airflow.

Also, I replaced the factory oil cooler with a Fluidyne air to air. This sits behind the left rear tire.

Also, I have 2 small SPAL fans mounted to the Spearco intercooler.

Moved firewall (old picture)

Yah, this thing will do some nasty wheel stands so I had to fab up a Wheelie-Safe Gas Tank Sump

I chose the swing axle setup (with sway-a-way axles) over IRS for superior strength. I destroyed 2nd gear on my first Rancho ProStreet trans, so I went with aftermarket 1st and 2nd gears on this Rancho ProDrag trans.

Anodized 1/4" Aluminum Plate (STi Motor Mounts to CSP Torque Bars). I have since then swapped out the suby mounts for solid mounts.

Solid mounts ay. So next will be an AUTOCRAFT case for when the gussets crack.

Awesome. Simply breathtaking. I have always dreamed of a Bug or Speedster replica with that kind of swap. Kudos for thinking outside the box.

Now do a 21 window or Westie with a swap like that.

That is so cool! Nice job on engine and exterior. Was it tough to mate the EJ block to the bug trans?

Wow, that thing is sick!

You are also a talented photographer by the looks of it.

Just the other day my father and I were talking about Subaru motors, and he said it would be cool if someone put one of those motors into a VW...and VIOLA! His jaw dropped when I showed him these pictures.
