So stoked, getting scheduled to meet with a mortgage representative to finally get on track to buying a house. Finally, after all these years or not dumping money into the WRX are about to pay off... Something about having a nice car sitting outside in the snow breaks my heart...

Congrats on a future house. I wanted to do that when I got based here, because I know we are coming back. But the wife insisted we wait, good call in my book. Find the one you want!

Have a slight dilemma; I just recieved my Subaru oil galley adapter, used for installing an oil pressure sender on top of the block near the crankcase vent. It is supposed to have 1/8th BSPT threads. I also bought this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Meter-2269-Pressure-Adapter/dp/B00062YVLQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360294103&sr=8-1&keywords=1%2F8+npt+to+bspt which is a BSPT to NPT adapter. However, I can't even get it to start threading into the galley plug adapter. It's like it is too big. I've checked the packaging of both products multiple times to make sure i received the correct items. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do?

Is there anywhere to buy grill mesh material here in Anchorage or in the valley? Checked Home Depot and Lowes but they don't have what I'm looking for. The OP in the thread below says he picked up his material at Home Depot but didn't see any at ours.

Looking for something like what this guy used:

Thank you sir. We haven't begun to shop the market yet, but we already know the area we want to look into. Thankfully Anchorage has a few newly constructed areas in good locations, new homes, new or 1 previous owner areas, and housing loans are still low. Shoot. They'll still give a house loan to Joe Blow who buses tables at the local restaurant...

I had some issues when I first installed mine, it didn't seem to seat correctly in the adapter, but I ended up finding a direct oil gallery adapter to sensor as opposed to using the adapter. Just ended up making everything less stressful...

Meh. When I needed an adapter.. I just called FATS and got one delivered for $3.15.

Stop by and ask for Tony. If he can't help then you can go to a plumbing store and see if someone can match one up. They're called bushings though in the plumbing world >_>.

Well, I got it. Decided to check our tap and die set and sure enough, we had 1/8 PT, which I'm pretty sure is the same as BSPT. Regardless, they're both tapered pipe thread. First tried the die on the male part, which helped as It was now starting to thread into the galley plug. But only about a half turn. So then I carefully ran the tap into the galley plug, essentially moving the position of the taper. And all is well now

Uhh, could someone help me identify the stock up-pipe material? What's puzzling me is that most google results show people claiming it is cast iron. Yet it is welded (or brazed?) from the factory and looks nothing like a true cast iron piece i.e. the stock wrx manifold (NOT including the crossover pipe). Spark test is inconclusive for me. Known mild steel has lots of bright white sparks, the up-pipe has less sparks that are closer to orange, but I wouldn't call them red sparks.

Picture for reference..

And all this time I thought Jammer had nerves of steel.

I am heart-broken over this news.

From an article on Ice Racing in the March 2013 edition of the Alaska Magazine.
