On a year old car? Clean your blades. My car crossed the 9 year mark in September and I think Iím on my third set of wipers.

Granted, I live in Florida so never freezing helps but they should still last for much longer than most think. Windex and a paper towel, youíll be amazed how much crap comes off them...

I like either the Bosch Icons or the Valeo Ultimate Beams

FYI - I find you typically should change them between 6-9 months in northeast climates - temp changes definitely effect them negatively...

Bosch has a site where you can put in your vehicle details and get the proper sizing:
https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/auto/wiper-blades

As does Valeo:
http://catalog.valeoserviceusa.com/

Or alternately you can go to the auto parts store and use the book/lookup guide in the wiper aisle (or just ask at the front for them to lookup the sizing as well)

Lately I've had more luck with the Valeos.... which you can find on Amazon for decent pricing just get the model number from the Valeo Site

If your car is 1 year old you have 2 years left of a warranty to get free blade insert replacements at the dealer.

A set of Silblades lasted about four years on my hatch. I think the VA uses 26" and 16" blades.

what ever you decide on is up to you, but I will let you know to steer clear of the Rain-X blades.

I got roped in with the "hype"...errr, advertising and decided to put some on my '04 GTI to replace the tricore aero blades that were on it.

Sure, for the first use of the rain-x blades, they work fine, but after the first use, they pretty much don't do the "rain-x" thing well and of course the solution is used up pretty fast, especially in a heavy rain.

secondly, they look terrible on the car. The mounting clip is huge and hideous looking and you can't not help see them looking at of the windshield.

So, I cannot recommend the rain-x blades and will never go down that road again.
