Default BLITZ Guages

Hey all...

I just picked up a set of BLITZ 60 mm I-D guages (boost, temp, press - thanks Shawn )...

I have a couple of questions...

First - Has anyone else purchased these and if so, what was your experience with the install.

** I like the fact that these come with all the necessary hosings, fittings, and sensors but not the fact I can't read Japanese. **

Second - Since I only got one temp sensor, which is more critical: water or oil? I am guessing oil but then again your water temp usually gives the first indication of any trouble, right?

Third - I am planning to pick up the SBC i-d boost controller as well and was wondering if anyone has hooked it up for EGT data and if it is even possible since I have not seen a EGT guage made by BLITZ (maybe I have't looked hard enough) ?

By the way - I have serached on install help and found it extremely useful, but just wanted to know if anyone specifically put these guages in.

THANKS PEEPS!!!

The lack of an EGT gauge is what has kept me from buying Blitz gauges. I wish they would make one...perhaps I am missing something too! I don't think the SBC-iD tracks EGTs, though, I am unsure where you heard that.
take care,
rob

The Blitz SBCID can data log water temperature, oil temperature and intake air temperature.

Not sure about EGT...but i think it can be done. The SBID acts as a display....so just use a EGT sensor.

Do you know where I can get any of the Blitz probes that plug into the SBC-id?? I've played around with the optional data settings and you basically set voltage ranges and corresponding numbers and it will graph the probe's input, very usefull, but who can get ahold of the friggin probes?

If the SBC-iD can act as an EGT gauge, that would be great. I wouldn't want to bet on it until I read it someplace, though. Anyone with a manual care to comment? What about probe type? What does it want and where can you buy it?

That is what I was thinking. I will look into it and see what I can figure out. I know a few guys with some SR20DET's in their USDM 240's/Sylvias that have the SBC i-d... I will dig around inside their brains to see if I can find any information.

Blugin - according to Blitz, you need to get the SBC optional harness to display the other data charts. Currently they would be TPS, water temp, oil press, A/F injector pulse but I am still theorizing that there should be a way to do more... like EGT.

Just check with any of BLITZ retailer. I picked my guages up and soon SBC i-d through Shawn @ http://www.AutoImaging.com

Ask for an i-club discount too...

Apparanty BLITZ does make an EGT guage... the reasone why we don't see it here... obvious.

It is Japan market guage but your BLITZ vendor should be able to get it.

I am still researching how the SBC i-d might work with EGT readings....
