Default 07 WRX OG Green on E85 goes to the 1/8th track 7.37 @ 95.2 mph. Phatbotti TKR tuned

Event: 1/8th mile
Location: greer, sc
Ambient Temp: 55
Elevation: 800
Weather: cold clear night
Track and Conditions: asphalt, clean, flat
Tires: 215/45r17 summer tires

Car: 07 WRX TR
Tuner: Phatron (Phatbotti Tuning TKR)
Dyno Info: Airboy
Transmission: 5spd/ DS1 gearset
Gear: 3rd
Peak HP at RPM: unknown
Peak Torque at RPM: unknown
Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 215whp
Target Boost: low boost 19psi, high boost 24-25psi
Target AFR: 11.5-11.8
Fuel: E85
Engine/Power Modifications: JE forged pistons, BC 272 cams, Fully ported heads, OG Green IWG 7cm2 ported by me and subydude02, collapsing gimmick turbo inlet, FiveO1200cc injectors, Perrin headers, Perrin uppipe, Buschur Racing TBE, Hallman MBC, Hyperflow TMIC, TGV deletes, phenolic spacers
Driveline Modifications: 6-puck sprung clutch, mfactory forged front LSD
Suspension Modifications: cobb swaybars ,megan coilovers, cobb...
Other Modifications: weight removal, lighter wheels

I went to the 1/8th track with the locals and had a blast, I was a little disappointed with my times. After looking at some of the logs it seems that LC "which we never tested before" was causing knock, the car went into the failsafe fuel map droping DAM. Also the IATs were in the mid to high 80s for some reason even tough it was 55 F. When we fix all the bugs the car should go a lot faster.

With the low boost setting which is 19psi peak the car trapped 93.6 mph with the high boost setting 24-25psi the car makes 50whp more and it only trapped 95.2 mph , I can't wait to get everything 100% correct.

I been searching and I think this is the fastest and quickess someone has gone with a FP Green. Is it a record?

I miss 3rd bad, I guess I got too excited when racing the viper

nice runs.

i am running a similar setup (fp green 3", ELH, e85) and was wondering even with the built bottom end and cams you have is the max you can go on this turbo 24 psi? Or is something else holding you back (fuel, cooling, etc.)? if/when i get my bottom end built i'm wondering if it may be worth it to just go rotated or try and push the green to its limits. so far i really enjoy the OG green.

He can push it alittle further, maxed at 25 to 26 lbs i believe.

Awesome turnout Juan, you rock dude!! let me know when you wanna go to the track next. i just drove down to atlanta yesterday for an airshow and i didn't realize that commerce dragway really wasn't that far. I'm ready to go the next time they have an open night

Holy chit. Thats a great time and trap.

Looks like somebody learned how to drag race!!

If that was the 1/4, your looking at super low 11's.

I'd like to here Ron's opinion on the injectors. This is the first set of results I've seen on the FiveO injectors. Easy to tune? How would you compare them to DW's or ID's?

I know Juan loves them. there a thread with a video of his car at a 900rpm "ish" and they seem to idle rather nicely...

I think that is from thursday . Friday morning I try a look under the car just to check my axles, when I try to jack up the car I couldn't get jack under the car , the car dropped about 1" all around. I looked for something broken but I couldn't find anything. I had my coilovers set at the softest, next time I am going to make the front a little stiffer.

When r you guys going to the track?

Tuning them wasnt bad.

IIRC it seemed like the run to run variance in the AFR at WOT was a little less consistent, but i could be lying. Juan can speak more to that based on what his wideband is doing on a daily basis.

Its not being held back......it will run more peak boost......it wont hold more than 22-23 at redline.....so your "drag racing powerband" gains in going from 25 to 28 psi are minimal and i dont think adding more tq to juans gears is a great idea.

thats not uncommon. Your IAT's are measured at the MAF sensor.....so when you're baking in the staging lanes the IAT's can rise drastically.

Last time i was at the track the outside temp was 80-90* and my IAT's were 150-160*

I think with the 7.37 it would have gone 11.2-11.3 since I don't have to shift 5th. When I fix all the tune bugs it should trap 97-99mph in the 1/8th IMO, the car was running super rich 116% IDC and only applying like .34 DAM

I know! I engaged the LC when the light turned green

Dug-e-fresh or however he spells it on here went 96 or 97mph like 4 years ago on a SZ49. Believe his was a 8cm and externally gated though. Think he ended up going 11.2 or 11.3 @ 128mph on race gas.

its complicated .

1. engage launch control.... build full boost 8lbs or whatever
2. let off the gas a little bit not much to disengage launch control ( like puming the peddel)
3. Dump the clutch while flooring it again.

you will still have boost built up in the system after 1. I found this on accident but it worked great. It keeps the wheel spin to a minimum.
