Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new setup in the next month or so but I'm really new to fitment so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to get as flush as I can without sacrificing the ability to DD the car.
year: 2004 model: STi wheel model: Rota Grid wheel size/offset:17x9 +42 or 18x8.5 +44 tire brand/model: Open minded to this, undecided tire size:Open minded and looking for opinions on this suspension: Dropped on ST coilovers fender mods: None currently, willing to roll fenders, not really looking to pull them. spacers: yes/no? size? None currently. Not looking to run any spacers. I'm wondering if either choices will require a roll and if I'd have any issues with brake clearances. I'm completely on the fence between the two wheel sizes. (curious if the 17s would look too small). Also, like I said before, I don't know much about tire sizes so I'm open for suggestions. |

really depends on tire size. but since you are lowered, you can guarantee on at least a roll. Quote:
you dont want those. Search this thread for what will fit the easiest. You have a brand new car, you should be able to afford more than $300 wheels. |

For people like you, I strongly recommend to stop looking at wheels wider than 8-8.5" and an offset between 42-48. |

Not willing to do fender work or add negative camber? Don't look wider than 8.5" or an offset more aggressive than +42-48. |

You will need to MASSIVELY pull fenders to get THAT much wheel with THAT much tire. and even then......I'm not even sure you'd be able to pull the fenders enough to clear them..... |

model: Sti wheel model: rota p1 or rota p45f wheel size/offset:18x8 +48 tire brand/model: dunlop direzza dz101 tire size: 235/40/18 suspension:stock and soon to be bc br's alignment: standard, stock fender mods:standard So i have a few questions. Will this combo fit fine on stock suspension? Will I have any rubbing? Im getting a deal on 235/40/18's which is why im going with that size. Also when I lower my car on bc br's will they still fit ok? If you have a recomendation on a btter tire size i would appreciate the input but like I said im getting a deal on the 235/40's so id like to use those if possible. Tire brand/model: stock dunlop Tire size: 245/40/18 Suspension: stock Alignment: stock Fender mods: stock I have a couple of questions. Im interested in these wheels but do not want to alter my suspension setup. I have done some very basic research and it seems that 18 x 8.5 5-114.3 +45 will clear my brembo's and will not require any fender rolling etc. I just want to confirm that these will fit. Anyone who have mounted these wheels or with experience please chime in. Thanks! |

wheel diameter, width, and offset have literally nothing to do with brake clearance.

^that
The spoke design will mean more for caliper clearance than the above-mentioned specs. There are 18x9.5 +35s that won't clear Brembos due to spoke design, but the STi BBS, 17x7.5 +53, will clear. |

I have browsed through 15 pages and found not one wrx that is exactly like mine to help me find the right tires
2010 WRX Premium Sedan Work Emotion XD-9 18x8 still on back order and cannot recall exact offset but it's either +35 or +45 stock suspension/not lowered looking to fill gap a little bit but don't want such a fat looking tire like most truck tires. do not want to lower it right now due to finances. I don't want the rim to stick out from the tire and I don't the tire to bulge over the rim. would 235/40/18 rub or work fine? please help! thanks! |
