I used goof-off and some rubbing instead of sandpaper, though.

Just like the mod says. Pry it off with a pick, or small flathead screwdriver. I used the steel wool method to remove all the black inside.

USE TESTORS MODEL PAINT THAT YOU CAN GET AT ANY HOBBY STORE. Others have used a different king of paint and have had bubbles appear, and fading in the color.

You may need to do a couple coats to get it to look even.

On a side note, mounting a small light behind the badge before you install it will give you a neat look for night driving. I recommend mounting it with a switch so you don't get pulled over for it.

I have a small strobe light mounted behind mine, that I got at Pep Boys. It requires a little cutting into the grill, but looks great.

I used finger nail polish remover, and it was clear as glass when I was done getting the paint off. I then used spray paint instead of testors. Looks good.....except for the damn super golue...stay from super glue!

Do not follow the ChosenWon,
Use 3M double sided tape, it works great and if you ever feel like changing the color, it peels right off, and start over.
I myself have two different badges, one is blue, the other is red. I haven't switched em around yet, but I think I will tommorrow.

Goof off or nail polish remover and a rag works great for taking off the stock paint. However, instead of paint I used fingernail polish to repaint the back. No bubbles, looks slick and shiny, it's great. 3M double sided tape from autozone to hold it on, and if I want to change color, nail polish remover will make it quick and easy.
