Enkei Raijin Gunmetal on 2011 WRX
Just wanted to share some pic of the Enkei Raijin Gunmetal that recently put on my 2011 WRX. 18X8 offset 45, clear Brembo Grand Tourismo kit, Thanks to Tirerack.
The color looked good with SWP. All the mushy pedal feel is gone with as soon as the Brembo is put in. Performance exactly what I would expect from Brembo. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Larger pistons allow for more travel and a softer pedal. If you move to smaller pistons, it can increase pedal feel due to shorter travel but not much. Moving from floating calipers to 4 pots will also marginally improve feel. All it really does is change the curve of the force applied. Kind of like how the floating calipers on the 2011 wrx and the brembo's on the sti have a stopping distance within 3 feet of each other, which can also be attributed to the wider tires on the sti The largest factor in pedal firmness are the master cylinder, and brake lines (a reduction of flex in brake lines drastically increases firmness of the pedal). Regardless - wasn't the point of this thread to show us some pictures? Last edited by sc00by4life; 08-23-2012 at 06:31 PM. |

With 245/40/18, the tire/wheel weight 46lb. Weight the stock tire/wheel with 30% tread left = 43lb. Not super light but decent for the look and price

I'm getting these wheels installed, gunmetal, but I am getting 18X8.5 45mm Offset, 245/40 Dunlops. TireRack says they fit, I'm not going to argue.
Any reason why you didn't go with 8.5 width? |

I like the Raijins. Sort of an updated classic look.
I was thinking of getting these wheels for my Audi, but they don't offer the gunmetal for my car on Tirerack. |

I like the Enkei Raijins as well ... here they are in Hyper-Silver on my 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
and as far as the side discussion of brake feel ... a more rigid fixed caliper with firm up the brake pedal as there will be less deflection of the caliper under pressure |

Adding a brake stop also makes a difference, as does adding higher coefficient of friction (increases "bite") brake pads The mantra is tyres (tires) stop cars so to improve stopping distance you change to a better tire with higher static/kinetic friction - in a broad sense this correlates with decreasing UTQG rating (tread wear rating) Nice wheels |

Cool. When posting pictures don't forget to put wheel and tire size specs.

So the 18x8 clears brembos, does that also mean the 18x8.5 does as well?
Also: necrobump. |
