My only recommendation is to grind the inside rivets down.
They can be dangerous to any rear passengers.

Thanks. I'm switching out the hardware. As it is I don't use them when there are passengers in the car.

Those are most definitely bolts, not rivets

Ok.
On my phone they look like rivets.
Still a hazard though.

FYI, that's a 4 year old post made by a member that hasn't logged in in over 2 years. Not sure if you're going to get an answer. But I 'believe' it's just hydro dipped with a carbon fiber pattern.

Let's JDM styling!

Default Show us your Unique (custom) modifications, Part 2

Plainly not the best pics, but Wenge wood trunk and side oem jack cover w/ tatami mats to replace old trunk floor. Will update with better pics of the darker colored wood:

Also custom F1-style rear LED fog and LED tail lights.

And a selfie with the uniquely modified BRZ STI concept !

I can't in good conscience call this a unique mod but...
Pulled out my old crappy gauges and installed an aem wideband. Covered the empty holes with a couple of aluminum center cap decals I had lying around.

I was thinking the same thing. The wheels are rice, but everything else is great.

Red flaps are OK. Not a problem. The red rims are another story - shame.

Any write up/ instructions on the f1 fog? I've wanted to do one on my blob for a long time but can't find a decent write up for it.

looks OK, but what happens in 3 years when you want a new phone, and you buy a Samsung, or the new IPhone doesn't fit the hole, or IPhone changes their cord again, or you try to sell the car to a guy that owns a different phone?

looks nice. I also prefer silver to grey. I may have tried a slightly less bright silver, but looks good.

Tell me what you think! (I wanted to put 'SUBIE' because I also got the Impreza letters, but thought this was classier...)

It's just a generic auto LED unit with a positive and ground wires coming off it. I used guidelines from Oznium.com as a general basis for how to wire it up (where I bought some supplies, the rest from local auto stores and online). You can kind of rig it up however you like as long as it's safe (right gauge size wire etc.) and works properly. Use at your own risk and up to you to sort of figure out how to do it safely/properly like any custom job, but Phil @ Oznium was great with answering questions I had.

I set my own up to a switch on the dash that I retrofitted into an OEM switch-blank next to the fog/cruise switches

One of my recent projects -- plastic welded a single gauge pod into my A pillar, and then suede flocked the whole thing (all pillars are flocked)

There is always a fine line between attention to detail and overdoing it. I agree with you here.
