The only negative attention I've gotten from other drivers on the road after 18k mi in the STI is from '09 WRX owners.

He have a carbon fiber hood on that thing? Cause I see you don't live far from me and if it's the same s2k (doubtful, but maybe) he's a pita and crashes quite often.

I think I should do this, I had a siren installed on my blazer, that used to scare the crap out of people.

And OP, usually I give it a little quick vroom and thats usually enough to let them know that i'ma bit more then they can handle, if they are presistant i just exit off the freeway and ride the feeder for a few exits, that usually helps. the one time I had a guy swerving at me was in a tahoe and he and his buddy were throwing beer cans out the window, I had a fuilly loaded car so I wasn't about to **** around, i just slowed down to 20 (in a 55) thankfully they turned but i was getting ready to call it in.

Psst.... He's from the Northeast... they don't have the mighty service roads up there... if you exit... you exit for good... lest you get right back on at the same exit... that's a Texas thing...

Hey man I was just saying what I do, I realize that the roads are different in different parts of the country, so psst....find another way to be a smart ass lest you be labeled as a dumb ass.

You call the cop to get him to your location, so he can catch them. Duh.

Living in the U.P. of Michigan I get either trucks or jeeps trying to race..Oh had a chitty celica once too..anyway..I just look at them and for some reason always burst out laughing. IDK why probably cuz I'm laughing at how stupid they are for thinking they can beat a wrx..but usually that will piss them off and they keep going.

I have the same problem all the time here.
Most recent was a moron in a mid 90s mustang GT that was trying to get me to race him on I-96 while I was PULLING A 4'x6' TRAILER!!!!!!!

Best way I know of to get them to ignore you is to get rid of the WRX badge on the trunk and the hood scoop. Then put 2.5i badges on it. 95% of them will not bother if they think it is not turbocharged.

For the ones that still do call the cops.

Later.

Yup.. just a few squirrels. Creating a huge speed differential between you and other traffic on the highway is perfectly safe. Nothing goes wrong, ever.

In your case, when they display dangerous driving like that, I would recommend ignoring.
this i do sometimes too... but its usually nothing more than a quick 2nd gear pull for them to realize i am faster

Want a creative approach?

Make and keep a sign in your car that says, "I don't race. Why?"
And underneath have a picture of your children, wife, family, etc...

If that doesn't work, call the cops ASAP.
