any of you guys running into issues being lowered on springs? More specifically the tein ones... XD
I got them a few months ago, and tonight I happened to come across the suspension sub-forum and nearly cried. Wondering if they are still a big no-no on the 08+'s.

Some springs are designed for the stock shocks in mind so the stock shocks will last longer. All stock shocks will blow eventually though; you're going to have to replace them eventually, it just depends on when. If you track the car, then they'll obviously go faster than if you only daily drive on them.

How are some of you getting the camber angles that are pretty aggressive? I have seen -2 in the front on some of yours. Is it just because you are that low?

most decent coilovers come with front camber plates or some sort of front camber adjustment. Its the rear that is a little more difficult.

Work Emotion CR Kai
17x9 +44
no spacers
still no fender work
same tires as before, 245/40/17 Conti Extreme DW

i loved my gold wheels, and they were a lot lighter than these, but i think these look a little better and the size is more what i wanted in the long run. being a non-lip wheel, they look larger and have that nice concave look because of the width/offset. and still doesnt rub (that ive noticed).

how close are you to rubbing? i'm considering some 17x9 wheels with 255/40/17 tires and wondering what offset would work for sure. if it's close, what way would i have to go?

I'm probably right on the edge of rubbing. 255s will probably rub.

Offset of your wheels will play a huge roll too. I got these wheels because of the +44 offset. They were a custom order from Work (I think 17x9 +44 normally is an STI fitment) Most 17x9s are a +38 or +42.

Here's some pics of my car with 255 40 17 tires. both front and rear fenders have been rolled, no rubbing at all. camber settings are aggressive, -3.0 Front, -2.3 rear

It looks a bit stretched and the the tire performance is not to my liking. No rubbing with current setup. Does any one have experience with this wheel and 235 tires?

I'm surprised your 225 is stretched on an 8" wheel. Either they run a little narrow or the 225s I had on my 8" wheels on my previous car ran a little wide.

Unfortunately, a lot of these online bundle deals will only allow up to a 225. On the plus side they are usually trashy tires anyways, mine made it one season. Swapped to 245's now.

2008 WRX Sedan
XXR 18x8 +45 gold
245/35/18 Conti DWS Xtreme
Megan Racing Coilovers (dropped 1.25")

Roadtrip, did you need Coilovers for inside clearance?

No, the coilovers were only needed to fix the horrible suspension that comes in the 08s. Wheels fit fine with the stock stuff.

hey, nice cars. Can someone tell me what size spacer I would need to make my stock 16" tires on my 2.5i flush with my fenders? I am running Koni Adjustables with Eibach lowering springs and Rallitek front + Rear sway bars. My car is lowered about 1.4" all around. I'd like to avoid rolling the fenders if possible. Thanks

Wait... You're lowered and want wheels flush with your fenders without rolling them? That's not going to work too good.

My wheels are almost flush and my tires rub my fenders all the time, and I'm not even lowered.

okay, well i guess not completely flush, lol. Just want the rims to come out a little wider to get rid of some of that gap.

18x9 +40 with a 225/40/18's on my 10 hatch
and my husband has 18x9.5 +44 5mm spacers in the rear with 235/40/18's on his sedan. Both are rolled and pulled A LOT - no rubbing . Our tires have a little stretch and we have no negative camber in the front. Both cars handle amazing with no performance issues at all.
