2010 MAXIMA,
Customer came in for an oil change, tech noticed something sticking out of the front bumper. There was a stake impailed through the bumper, past the radiator and core support and through the washer tank. The tech had to remove the bumper to get the stake out. The customer had no idea there was something in their vehicle and of course no idea when or how it happened.

What are the odds that the customer was female?

Needs an alignment?? It has been driven like that since the tires were new. There are still tire whiskers on the outside edge. Not only that the engine cradle is broken, the front strut towers are pushed up and in, and the roof is buckled. The only reason it came into the shop was that the power steering pump went out!! WTF!! I wonder how big the pothole was that ate this car.

Well that was a good read, made the last couple of hours at work fly.

I have personally delt with the 'rodent airbox' issue. I had a 05 Elantra that started hesitating one day. I checked the air filter first, the box was FULL of acorns. ****in squirrles! lolz

That stake through the front of that car reminds me of the time I hit an elk and had antlers sticking a foot out of my radiator in a FJ55. They sealed the holes they made going in so I left them there. Made quite the conversation piece.

Slow down through a construction zone. Front end loader vs a Lexus GS.

So we had this Altima in the shop today with a no start issue. The customer had just got a new battery put in at WallyMart.
Apparently the terminal was corroded and broke when the new battery was put in, so they put a new (wrong) terminal connector over the old one to make a connection and put a nail through it to hold it in place........
You see the darndest things sometimes.

This truck came into work today for some body repair. What you are seeing is not snow slush, that is caked on asphalt tar and very thick at that. I guess the driver decided to traverse through some freshly laid pavement. I had to take a metal scrapper to dig it off to find where bolts were. All four wheel wells are like this and the paint on the lower body is trashed with this junk.

I work behind the scenes for a garage, so I don't personally see things, but I hear stuff.

Like yesterday some lady at one of our garages was complaining because she had originally been quoted for blown heads & gaskets, but upon tearing the engine apart our mechanics found that her water pump was done for, 9 hoses were "disintegrated", and both coil packs were shot.

When asked if she'd like the extra work done, she agreed, then later complained thinking all the waterpump/hoses/coilpacks were free...

A buddy of mine at Midas has some interesting stories.

Opens up oil pan, finds mysterious chain link. Still ran.

Customer complains about weird noise and rancid smell. Rat climbed up a chute and was decapitated by this fan.

Completely different customer, this one was today. ENTIRE RAT'S NEST. WTF.

No, no fire. I don't think it was running for long. It seems to have been sitting for a little while. By a little while, I mean one HELLOVA while.

Seems like an inevitable inferno if it went on driving that way!

Imagine the smell...
