You never know. With all of the plastic covering engines these days it could have been insulated from the heat. Paper is kinda like straw and burns at about 450 degrees give or take a generous 30% the low end is 315. Cars run at about 180-200 give or take a generous 30% the high end is 260. Doesn't seem likely and wow I am that bored in my dorm...

I drove a tow truck. Got a call to tow a Suburban into the dealership. I had a wrecker so I had to dolly it (which is a lot more work and sucks). The dealer was 2 miles away. I go knock on the owners door to get the keys and I ask why it was getting towed. She said 'there is a cd stuck in the cd player'.

This thread is ridiculous. I wonder if doctors have to deal with somewhat similar BS?

This has to be one of the best threads on the internet

I'm guessing you don't have a MOT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOT_test) in America?

You really do have some idiots in your country (I know everywhere has idiots but as usual you Americans have to go bigger and better )

Only certain states have inspections, and in states that do the inspection it is only as good as the person conducting it.

No inspection will cure stupid... unfortunately.

WTF!! I wonder how big the pothole was that ate this car.
Update. I put the car on the frame rack this morning. As you see all the numbers are in mm. The right side is far in from center of the strut holes. -5mm back, -17mm in, and 6mm high.
The left side was only -6mm back -7mm in-1mm low.

Yeah. No joke. I was pretty pissed. The dealership was paying for the tow. $50 to hook, $45 for dolly and $6 for mileage. So $101 to tow it in instead of her just driving it.

They do, and worse. It usually involves removing a foreign object from an orifice. Like a nose, or an ***hole. You wouldn't believe what people put in themselves.

I love this thread.

To keep this thread going. PLEASE keep your car clean. This one had 3 bags of crap in it. It had to go though detail before I even touched it. The car smelt bad enough that I almost was knocked over when I opened the door. Under that pile in the front seat what ever was spilled in it ate the leather apart. I didn't get a pic of the back seat. It was piled deep with dirty socks, clothes and underwear.

Edit: Deleted photo to cover name, cropped name out of photo reposted.

Another tow truck story: got in a car to put it in neutral and on the floor right below the steering wheel was a gigantic pile of fingernails. Like a thousand. Clean that **** up once on a while! Damn.
