![]() For anyone who's interested, Northern Tool has a full 1/2" drive Torx bit set (T20-T70 + E10-E24) that's currently on sale for 15 dollars; the P/N is 1586712 (sorry, I can't post URLs yet). This has been the cheapest price that I've seen for a full bit set that includes the T-70.
The only caveat is that these are not impact wrench bits, so you'll be limited to a breaker bar/cheater to get things loosened. HTH. |

![]() Thanks for posting the link! The one caveat I forgot to add is this thing is heavy for such a small package;the shipping weight is 4 pounds. Thus, it costs a little bit extra to ship...

![]() Anyone in the market for a T-70 Torx socket, please consider the unit that we have to offer.
Having a high quality Torx bit is something we cannot stress enough. The larger the Torx bit needed, the more prone they are to stripping across the outermost lobes and even damaging the plug itself; this cannot be more true with monster sized T-70 Torx plugs that Subarus come with. This is well known in the community and many people will order a "back-up" socket just in case. This is not necessary if you have a high quality socket to begin with. After much research and experience with brand "L" as well as what discount tool stores like "HF" and "NT" have to offer, nothing can compare to our T-70 Torx socket made by VIM Tools. Designed in the United States and manufactured in Taiwan, they feature a two piece pressed construction from the hardest "S2" grade steel. This two piece construction is necessary, as it allows much more precise and true T-70 size while in its manufacturing process. We are so confident in this product they carry a lifetime warranty. http://ultimatetoolco.com/t70torx.aspx We are offering free US Ground shipping (Contigious 48 United States only, all others including Canada contact us for price prior to placing your order). Please visit our website, PM or contact us for further information. www.ultimatetoolco.com [email protected] Last edited by ULTIMATETOOLCO; 03-23-2008 at 03:06 PM. ![]() Buy a T-70. It's cheaper than a replacement bolt or the labor it will take to get your stripped bolt out.

You are absolutely correct. Among our happy customers who have received our VIM T70 Torx sockets, we have already experienced a few customers needing expeditied delivery because they tried to make a T60 size or low budget T70 torx work in that drain plug and had rounded it off, and now they were too worried to continue trying to loosen it. Unlike standard hex drives, Torx drives leave both parts vulnerable to rounding off; the receiving plug as well as a poor quality torx bit can both strip. This is especially important if your drain plug has never been removed and has the factory thread lock on those plugs. We have the best quality T70s on the market if you need them! If you plan ahead and buy the correct high quality tool in the first place, you can avoid wasting a lot of time and money. www.ultimatetoolco.com |
