![]() Love being called a Noob but got to start somewhere.
I've read a lot and search through but can't find an answer to my particular set of questions. Happy to be told where to go (literally and metaphorically) I guess the worst news is that this is a legacy based question but around an engine you all love. I have 2 BH5s, one with a 2.5 auto drive train, decent body work but needs a new undercarriage thanks the UK's terrible weather and salty roads. And one with a 2.0 5MT with an equally pants underside but with brand new front and rear subframes. I also have an EZ30R engine (low mileage) and pretty much the entire loom (lights and some final ancillaries missing). I have the ECU, keys, ignition and cluster. BCM and TCM. The engine came from a 2005 BP Auto, very early version of the EZ30R. And I know what I am suggesting is a lot of work. I'm also not a mechanical novice and have a wide selection of "friends" to help out. But, I'm going to take one of the BHs and turn it into a two seater pick up and swap in the EZ30r engine. Short term keeping the 5MT. I've been chatting to AGT in Australia and they have a solution to remove the cluster (making a MT swap a bit easier) and get rid of the immobilizer but it's a pricey option once the freight is included. The intention is to have a road legal vehicle so that means no standalone so I'm thinking that I could strip the BH, send off the loom and install the adapted loom with the new engine, turn the key and drive away. It's that simple, right? ![]() |
