Default Bosal DP splitter hitting wastegate

02 Subaru WRX manual sedan

Tomioka racing TD05-20g

I have bosal SPT divorced wastegate DP. It has a splitter between the two pipes

1. The wastegate on the Td05 hits the splitter. I can grind it down a bit. Will this affect performance

2. Evan with the splitter out of the way, the wastegate cannot open more than 45 degrees. The flapper hits the opening of the divorced wastegate pipe.

How far should the waste gate open 90 degrees, 45 degrees ?

The Bosal Twin Dump Divorce DP is a direct bolt-on for the 2002 WRX.
You shouldn't have any trouble with the 20G wastegate.

If you grind down the divorce panel ( splitter ) it won't affect performance, it just minimizes the divorced effect.

How do you know the wastegate is hitting the splitter? With the DP mounted to the turbo, there is no way you can see inside.

Which part is new to you - the 20G or the Bosal?

New turbo. I had a VF34 before.

I removed the DP from the car and unbolted the wastegate actuator (so that I could move the wastegate flapper by hand).

Test fitted turbo and the flapper will not move. It is hitting the divider. If you leave a slight space between the flange you can look in.

But even with the divider not impeding the flapper movement. The flapper hits the pipe. It does not get 90 degree movement.

A 20G is pretty big for the 2.0L unless your 2.0L is "built", but then it all depends on how you want he car to perform.

Sounds like if you want to keep that particular 20G, you are going to either have to get a new bellmouth DP or start cutting that Bosal
