browse around the "tire and wheel" section.
What size rims are you talking about? 17" ?
What would be the widest you would want to go? something along the lines of 235/40/17 or something? Or are you trying to stuff something crazy like 10" wide wheels in there?

If you look at the arches on the wheelwell, you'll see there is about a 1/2 of sheetmetal that goes into the wheelwell. It involves basically bending that excess metal in so that you have more room. You'll want some assistance from someone with experience. easy to crack the paint etc.

I have 225-45-17 tires on 17 x 7.5 rims on my 07 2.5i Wagon and it fit super!

Nothing rubs on the fender either front or rear (rear did rub once on the OEM splashguard when I was heavy loaded and passing over a speed bumb)

I do not know if 02 fender are the same dimension as 07 throuhgt...

And you can have a look on my rims/tires thread here:

I have 225 40 18's on 18x7.5 +50 and I have no problems. Im pretty sure I could go 235's with no issues either, if I could fit them on my rims. 225's with a +50 offset +/- maybe 3 should work fine.
