Default Tint Shops in CT

Im going to be home for Christmas break and i plan on getting my windows tinted while im back home in CT. I live in Canton and im looking for some reputable shops around. I called Tint Master and i think it was like $190.00 for "regular" tint and like $250-$275 for the "better" tint. I dont even know whats different between the tints. But anyone who can chime in on some good local shops id appreciate it, thanks

While I don't know of any local shops, you might want to wait until warmer weather to get a tint, unless you have a heated garage. I would guess that the tint might cure better if its not winter temps. Of course, I could be talking out my azz.

Tint King in Bridgeport did a few of my cars without issue. The tint on my WRX is over 7 years old and still looks good.

Tint Master in Hartford has done two of my cars. They did a great job.
http://www.tintmasterhartford.com/

My LGT came with back already tinted, but I'm going to get the front done and the back a bit darker (or as close as I can get away with).
They did my WRX:

What's the legal tint in CT? I saw a state trooper pulling over cars on an exit ramp and ticketing them right there.

I used Mr tint in West springfield about 4 years ago. Back when I did it they said the difference in price between the tint was brand. 3m tint in their shop was the more expensive tint they used and it came with a lifetime warranty. The cheaper price was for band x tint and came with a 1 year warranty. I have had many cars of my own as well as other cars in my family and friends done by them and the installs have all been great.

That said I had my wagon done with 35% all around. The stock window comes with a slight tint so that would put it over the limit. I never got hassled. I bought the seemless high end stuff, I think in 2004 it cost me $180 for all the windows minus the Windshield.

FYI my wagon is in the Harte Subaru lot for sale. It may still have the tint on it.

I'll probably check out Tint Man on Rt. 25 in Monroe. I hear they are reputable, with reasonable prices, and I know a member on here is happy with their work.

Default tint difference

I just had my WRX tinted by Tint-Master in New London. They did a really fantastic job. It's been three weeks and they have cured perfectly, despite being the dead of winter.

The different levels of tint price reflect the amount of metal in the tint and thusly the amount of heat that it rejects from the sun. IIRC, the most expensive option of the 3 rejects 75% of heat.

Cheers all.

I got my tint done at auto tuners in Malden MA. All windows are 5 % as the "better" tint with the metal in it. I forget the name. All windows cost me 220$ all together (excluding windshield.)

I know that's a hike for you, but I was just chiming in on the difference in tints. Huge temp difference in the summer months when first getting in a what would normally be a hot car.

Edit; no matter where you get it done ask if the tint is hand or computer cut. Computer cut adds a much cleaner line and lasts longer.

This is where I went to get my tint done on my wagon. Very happy with it, zero issues. The price was good (under $200) and as long as you keep your receipt they will fix any problem that ever comes up. It's not the most high-end shop but they do very good work at a good price.

TintCo in Berlin has done my cars for window film, clear bra, headlamp film, tail lamp, etc. He's done a good deal of my friends' cars too. Let me know if you are interested and I'll PM you his information.

+1 for tint man in Monroe. Had my 9-2x done last month. Can't find a flaw with the tints. Only took cash or check.
