Fog lights in heavy snow
Would fog light provide any benefit over low beams in a heavy snow fall? The reason I ask is because last monday I was driving home in snow and visablity was really low.
PS I know I can't spell |

Well, they are going to product less glare because of their mounting position and because of their beam pattern.
However, I can't turn my stock fogs on independantly from the low beams, can you? |

Nope, mine are wired to work only with the low beams. I kind of assumed (hee-hee) that he didn't even have fog lights, otherwise he would've tried them out for himself. So my comment about the high beams was just a generic announcement.
Although, most people that install aftermarket foglights go ahead and connect them to work with the parking lights, so they will work with both low and high beams. Rich |

I think Hella Yellowstars www.rallylights.com
might be better if you're driving in inclement weather. less glare. they run 80 Watts I believe, but that's pushing it for the stock wiring. |

I regularly run with just my fogs (Hella FF300's) in heavy snow with my '92 Turbo. Vision is improved (even with clear lenses/bulbs) because of the better beam pattern, less 'snow-flake' illumination
