Yeah, make sure you take lots of water with you on the drive back when you get caught in the middle of the desert stopped for 5 hours, when, like milan said, someone falls alseep and jackknifed in the middle of the freeway.

traffic sucks big time, the whole way. Everyone goes really fast, way too close together, then a whole line of cars slams on brakes for apparently no good reason. Make sure car behind has good brakes.

From SD, leave before noon on friday, or be screwed. Return before 9 AM or after 4 PM on the return Sunday, or be even more screwed due to desert/booze hangover from hell sitting in LA-style traffic in the f-in desert.

stay away from strip clubs/escorts unless you like burning hundreds instantly. Gamble downtown, it's more relaxed and colorful, and the money drains at a more tolerable pace.

DO hit the clubs hard...even if you're not a club person, it's worth being one while you're there, trust me on this. Just ask the cabbies, hotel staff, etc where to go what night.

cops/CHP on 10 & 15.....cops in Vega$ itself are pretty cool.

real thing to watch out for are the hookers in the casinos, ESPECIALLY at the Hard Rock!! Couple of them tried to take a few of my buddy's and my chips while we were at the blackjack tables!?

They were chatting my buddy up real good cuz well, he was drunk and is a sucker for ANY female attention, let alone some HOT hookers (he didn't know they were "working girls, but it was real obvious to me). Anyhow, there were 2 of them and each one was sitting in a seat next to me and my buddy.

They were playing fairly small bets....like $25/hand or so and got busted in less than 30 mins but all the while, trying to run game on us like they were all nicey-nicey. My buddy was buying the whole bit and was probably thinking, "Wow, these chicks dig me!?" But I had a feeling they were up to no good and wasn't as drunk as my buddy either, so I just paid them no mind. The one sitting next to me got the hint and just went over to tag team my buddy.

A few minutes later, one of the girls makes her move and tries to snag a couple of my buddy's $100 chips while he turns to order a drink from the cocktail waitress, but didn't see me watching her. Before the other one gets up to take off with her, I grabbed her pursestrap and said, " You guys can beat it, but I think you better leave my buddy's chips where you found them!!" The girl then turns to her partner in crime and all the other one says is, "Oh, are these (chips) yours? I didn't know that!" My friend is so shocked that he just sits there like a dumba$#, so the chicks take off.

All the while, the dealer, who couldn't have NOT seen the whole thing unfold, just asks, "Do you want me to call security?" We should've but just wanted to get the heck outa that joint, so we did.

My friends in Vega$ tell me that kind of stuff goes down ALL the time, especially when the casinos are packed, so watch out!!

Having said all of this, have a great time in Vega$, Benny. It's still one of my favorite getaways!

CLIFF NOTES: Watch out for dumb BIA'S (hookers) trying to steal your chips while playing the tables, ESP at the Hard Rock!"

Watch for Nevada cops just past the Cali border and as you approach the edge of Vegas coming down the hill before the airport...they love to hang out in the median with their radar turned on. The same goes for leaving LV...they get ya going home too!

On the Cali side, stay in the right lane under 80, blast to pass on the left lane only and then move to the right...stay smooth and don't weave...attracts too much attention.

Have fun! And, put all of your money on RED!

i miss vegas.

when i went with my friends last year we went to the 'mr2's inavade las vegas' good car show. anyways, we left on a friday morning (midnight) and got there at about 4am that same morning.. the only thing i can say is watch out for the cops and the idiot drivers that try and go 100 on the 15 weaving in and out of traffic.

on the friday night that your there if you like races hit up the friday night mayhem at the vegas drag strip. its open to the public and alot of cars show up. i thinks its free cus they are trying to keep the racers off the streets. when we went we seen a sick @$$ grand national! 10 sec. madness

I loved the "chase scene" and then the crushed, smoking hulk fleeing back to SoCal.

I just came home last night at about 0100.

What's the deal with the stretch of southbound I15 between Stateline and Baker where the speedlimit is posted at 55 or 60 (construction, i get that), and it says "Photo Enforcement Test Area." Are they using speed cameras out there?

Thumbs up

Stay at Bellagio. It's so expensive you won't have any money to gamble or drink with. But, you'll have one helluva nice suite to stay in.

I recommed the couple's massage at the Spa.

almost forgot...

Watch out for Baba Booey! Howard Stern and crew will be out there all next week at the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino!

I got a ticket last time I went. About 1/2 between Barstow and Nevada border.

I am going again later this month (with cruise control on).
