OMGHi2U "Most Comfortable Cars" by Consumer Reports... Subaru Tops 3 Categories

Just saw this in the latest CR issue, don't recall seeing them list cars based off of this metric before...

Shows how Subaru is still selling so well with their "Regular" models, focusing on ride and interior comfort.

It also penalizes Sedans and vehicles with difficult egress which is interesting. But some of the Luxury models compensate with really good seat scores and noise levels, even if they are less practical or ride worse. I did note this when test driving lots of things back in 2020.

That's why the Legacy Wagon died. They'd drive it and an Outback and decide they liked the ease of getting in and out and just paid more. Over the years I've worked at my retailer, I can think of a handful of folks that bought a Subaru PURELY for the ingress/egress. Would complain to me just about every time I saw them about this or that. I asked why they didn't get something else then or trade and they said no one else was as comfortable getting in.

Out of everything my 80 year old Dad tried at the time we bought the Macan, the BMW X3 actually had/has the best ingress/egress for him. Better than Outbacks or the Ascent, even the Forester. The base model handled like **** though so the Macan it was.

German cars tend to have more front seat room/adjustability too for some reason, but Subaru does pretty well with the American shaped customer.

Like the extra wide STI seats
The EVO had seats that actually hold you in place.

I'm surprised the Solterra isn't on there. The suspension is like clouds. Way better than our Tesla Model Y.

I'm assuming there wasn't enough customer feedback on the Solterra to include it.

Doesn't CR do their own primary research? This isn't JD Power. It's their personal opinion.

I agree that Solterra is a small fry, so probably didn't hit their radar...then again Ioniq 6 is listed.

Road test scores are based on reviews by the journalists. The Reliability scores are based on owner feedback.

I don't know what category they would have put the Solterra in for this one.
