This oil cooler is supposed to help with high RPM driving. A problem that existed in the FA20. Anyone break their FA20 track driving?

I snagged pics of a white Premium at the dealership. Only $30k, no ADM. Gonna be nice seeing these on the road.

I'm pretty excited, though it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the first gen.

When the first BRZ came out, there was a factory "race car" they made day 1 out of the BRZ and it had that oil cooler so I was actually surprised it wasn't included with the car. Glad its there now. |

Indeed. I want to hold out for info on the CTR before doing anything, but I'm pretty bored and it will be a hard wait. I'd get a GR86 Premium in red and swap with the wheels/tires of the BRZ base model
Really hoping these can naturally generate nice audible sound with a pair of wire cutters and an axle back. |

Yeah they didn't have a plate mount on the first model BRZ and I loved that. I never drilled holes in mine.

As more of these really positive reviews roll in and with a local dealer having several "in transit" for sale with no listed ADM as of yet I'm having a tuff time following my "no 1st year" mantra

I had a 1st year 2013 BRZ and I loved all 4.5 years of it. I only got rid of it because I accumulated 112k miles and wanted a 5-seater hatchback with AWD and Adaptive Cruise Control. I honestly wouldn't worry about a 1st year of this because I think the NA engine is good. And it's an upgrade of an existing platform, not all-new. Plus it still has a warranty. I say if you find a deal that's too good to pass up, don't pass it up!

It's my backup option (waiting on GR Corolla first) but if I wanted the car, I'd buy it now, if it's the color you want. I don't consider it a first year car. Covid gave them an extra year to work on the car. The only thing to wait for would be the PP. |

The whomper (what I call fake noise generators) can be easily disconnected to reveal a nice solid 4 banger noise. Big improvement, at least judging from videos.

Just saw this...
Basically an e85 tuned full exhaust first gen BRZ still has less power than the new car! |

as an owner of a 2018, falling in is the easy part, if you follow the OSHA recommendations of how to sit in a car, it's getting out that is challenging, especially on days when the knees aren't working so good. but hey, it's worth it, and if I end up getting stuck in the car, is that such a bad thing?

There are far worse places to be stuck for sure.

See, now THAT'S how they should have marketed it. I ran my BRZ with full bolt-ons and E85(more like e40) and it was a blast when compared to 91/93. Now, getting this in stock form? Heck yeah.

If you don't need a backseat often, or just have short people for the front and back, the twins are a great choice. The GTI is always the practical choice, I want to like the Veloster N, but there's just something off with the styling for me.

I'd sell in a heartbeat, no regret if they turned around a year or two later and put out an STI/GRMN version with NA motor built to rev to 8k+/250+hp, better brakes. People always talking turbo, but I see a perfect opportunity to turn this into a very unique all-motor legend. I think that would fit the ethos of the car perfectly, as opposed to a turbo. But if they don't, yeah, why not make my own poor mans GT3? |

I'm interested in the BRZ, kinda, but only once the inevitable factory BBK model/package is available. I need something fun, weighing the options out there, and I want 6mt, 2+2 & RWD.
There is only one BRZ near me, and it's an auto, there are no 86's anywhere near me, but honestly, waiting for the STI/GRMN models to hit anyways. Out of the box I'm worried I'll get bored of it real quick though, and I don't want to stuff a supercharger on it at year 2. Also looking at slightly used PP2 5.0 mustangs in the area, but I'm a picky SOB, so used adds a layer (or several) of difficulty; also... Mustang is more a Clydesdale than a pony now, and my memory is rusty, having not driven an S550 since pre-covid. It's a lot easier to add power than remove weight, but I kinda just want to get into a car and drive it and not modify it, outside of maybe wheels/tires and some appearance mods. I only do like 7k miles a year, and that includes family trips, so multiple cars feels like a waste, the CT4-V blackwing would be a one car solution.. although I didn't like the engine in the ATS-V, so I probably won't like it in the CT4-V-BW either, even though it's "been improved" according to the rags/internet journalists. I will continue to be indecisive. |
