The power to weight ratio on that thing is insane. The wing is also insane.

Also probably the best looking VB to date.

Neat race car. Meanwhile in the real world, no hatchback, no care.

That is one good looking race car. The all black is a nice change from their usual bright liveries. The weight is insane too.

I looked up the 2021 Nitro Rallycross car and on VSC's site they just called it a "custom Subaru BOXER".

https://vtcar.com/cars/vt21x/

As far as I've seen, they've been using a unspecified Boxer motor for a while now. At least the last few years I've hoped to see a mention of EJ or FA, but it's always "custom Subaru BOXER".

It's a 2.0, so most likely a EJ since it has a very well known base.

I'm sorry but that car looks ridiculous.
Like they took all the amazon boxes they had around and made an over exaggerated ground and wing kit.

Under the hood, a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter flat-four engine produces 670 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque, revving to 9,500 rpm and spitting flames from its hood-exit exhaust. The powerplant is the most recent and top-performing evolution of Subaru Motorsports USA's highly successful rallycross engine that helped Scott Speed earn Subaru the Nitro Rallycross Teams Championship in 2021.
Now that I would be interested in

It's a race car. Would you consider something like this as ridiculous(first one I came across)? Or the Subaru Super GT cars? Just curious. If yes, then OK.

Love how Subaru chooses their "Halo Car" to be a completely built from the ground up racecar, built by an external company, with the Body Panels/Lamps being the only relation to it being a WRX. Meanwhile, GR Corolla is supposed to get some beefy 8spd auto trans with more torque. Effectively letting Toyota, "Out-Subaru" Subaru.

Goodwood Festival of Speed, Gymkana, and probably a Mt. Washington attempt. Basically the things the last car did, but quicker and with more pizzazz.

Personally, given its stealth appearance, I wanna see a Cannonball run.

It's an SOA initiative, not an SBR one.

I like it. That car makes sense. And manages to have a uniform color scheme. Didn't think that at all possible.

Looks cool.
I'd rather them do something relevant though… Kinda tired of seeing these wacky blank cheque custom builds. It's hard to get excited for something that has very minimal things in common with a WRX.
