A little bit from everywhere, really -- Craigslist, eBay, Yahoo Japan Auctions, RS25 forums, Nasioc.. I also joined a Prodrive P1 specific UK forum and some gents there were kind enough to help me out with some sourcing. I'd even ask some European eBay sellers if they'd ship, even if they said local pick up only, and sometimes they'd agreed to ship (depending on the item).

You just need to stay on top of everything and constantly search for whatever part you're looking for. I spent tons of time, even during work (although my desk job is rather slow) constantly scouring all avenues.

Buyee is a buying service that is linked right at the top of the Yahoo Japan Auctions listing and Japan Parts has a buying service called MyJapanBrand.com.

Bingo -- I've used Buyee to purchase items off Yahoo Japan. I have not bought anything larger than some GF8 taillights though so I can't really speak to shipping on large items.

Nothing extraordinary.. I just FINALLY replaced my windshield washer lines. Only took me about 4 years to stop slacking about it. Went to a local Pick n Pull and snagged the lines off a '93 Impreza. I may need to go back and grab another nozzle though. My passenger side was a bit clogged so I 'fixed' it and now it's like a damn geizer and shoots over the car.

(I know these are super exciting.. )

I was going to move forward on a rear glass with wiper purchase buuuuut my pup decided to fracture his toe. If it's not one JDM item taking my money, it's another..

Bonus photo of broken dog..

I also washed the car over the weekend and one of my center caps blew off while power washing the car and it fell down the drain. I can't find them from the seller I bought from previously.

Went to a classic Impreza meet this weekend in Tacoma. It was a nice little drive with some friends.

Annnnd today I changed my PCV valve and ohhhhh my Surprisingly, the old valve still moved and wasn't stuck, so there's that.

A buddy said my car spit out a puff of blue smoke on the drive to the meet. It does have some loss of power over the last 6 months or so.. Which is what prompted me to change the PCV valve. I still need to clean the MAF and I may just replace the O2 sensors too.. Just 'cause. But other than that, I don't notice any abnormal oil consumption or weird noises.. nothin'. I changed the plugs a little over 2 years ago before I left California. Not sure what else to really look at.

This is gonna be a long one..

All right, on Wednesday before I drove down to California I decided to clean my MAF and throttle body. The MAF seemed decent but I sprayed it anyway. The throttle body was sooooo gross. I didn't take the TB off completely, but I did disconnect the TPS and the cables. I forgot to grab a gasket before taking it apart and I had to run to the parts store. They didn't have one local, but could have one by 3:00pm (it was around noon when I went in). Okay, fine.. I can kill some time. I had ordered brand new washer nozzles so I put those on. I didn't realize they came with new lines too.. so coulda done this YEARS ago.

I get the gasket in but have to remove the baked old one off. I get the majority of it off and get everything back together. Starts up fine and revs okay, although I notice a slight lull when I rev it slowly. I'm kinda in a hurry because it's date night with my new dude, so we go get dinner and see a movie.

The next morning I'm ready to go around 5:30am, start her up fine and start off. I notice some hiccups trying to keep constant speed but I'm also super low on gas so I limp to the gas station. Fill her up and on my way again. I can't granny rev it past 3k nor can I hold a constant speed. I'm literally ****ting bricks because I'm driving 600 miles to my aunts house in California and I've only gone a mile and have issues

I limp it down to Vancouver, WA about 40 miles and park it at a parts store that isn't open for another hour. I send out texts to all my Subaru frands but most people local are asleep or unavailable. I figured I'd get a new MAF and see if it's that but the parts store doesn't have one.. Okay.. I'll remove everything and look. Everything looks fine, put it back together and tow it to Surgeline Tuning in Portland. They thankfully squeezed me in on super short notice.

They take a look and also think it's the MAF so they reclean mine. Nope, still having issues. We order a new one ($199 later ). I had asked them on the test drive to replicate my issues if it was the TPS (Joe said he figured that would be the issue) and the tech said he felt the issues I had were MAF related. Okay, you're the tech.. you know what you're doing. Guess what -- that's not it. Got the MAF on and it's no better.

They smoke test the TB and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, it's the TPS (Joe you're my hero). My dumbass didn't know that it needed to be put back in a certain way so they fixed that and I'm off! I finally leave Portland around 3:30pm.

No more hiccups, everything is great... Until Monday.

Had a job interview and decided to get an oil change up the street. As I was one the highway from the shop to head home I hit a ****ing object on the road that I had no chance of avoiding. I don't know what it was.. except that it was black and I prayed to God wasn't going to rip my bumper to pieces.. Heard a loud bang and then air pissing out of my tire. Great.

I pull over and once again call a tow. I'm not in the greatest spot on the side of the highway so I don't initially get out to check the damage. There was a small curb on the side so I inch up to get more room on the shoulder. Check the car and ****... the rear is flat too.

When I get to the tire shop I go through the ordeal of picking tires since they didn't have any available replacement PSS'. Tires get in and they get to work.. Maybe about 10 minutes later I see the tech rolling a tire towards the window.. NO NO NO. I see a bend. ****. They do their best to help me find the best cost efficient option, but I really didn't want to spend money on wheels (Drag) I don't even want, and turned out no one had any in stock anyway. After a good.. 3 hours waiting around I decide to just put my **** back on and tow it home to put my winter set on.

Unfortunately for me, it was prime traffic hour AND the tow companies were all super busy and backed up. I asked AAA what the timeframe was and the dude who came out to do my paperwork only told me, "It'll be hella time". Cool, thanks brah. THAT DOESN'T HELP ME. I sit outside the tire shop in my car for a good 90 minutes and call AAA again to get an ETA. They say another 90 minutes... No thank you. By this time my mom is home from work so I plead with her to pack up my winter wheels and bring them to me 20 miles away. Thankfully I had a buddy somewhat close by with a jack and stands so he got everything up, off and back on like a goddamn pit crew before I had a chance to help.

I got home around 7:00pm.. I think I left in the morning around 8:15am and was never able to get home until then. Quite honestly, the perfect "Monday" ever. I'm thankful nothing happened to the car and my alignment seems okay.. didn't see any damage to the suspension or anything. Just real bad luck. My rear side skirt popped out.. but I think that's it.

I posted to a local Subaru FB group for replacement P1 wheels and thank baby Jesus and old friend of mine still has a set of 3 from his accident. And the proper gold.. I may just repaint them this time instead of powder and call it a day.

One of my P1s miiiight be repairable, but I'm not too hopeful on it. I'll take them to a place on Friday after I pick up the other ones. I won't hold my breath. Either way I see if they can repair and/or paint everything as close to the OE gold as possible so I don't have a mix match gold going on.

The tires themselves don't look damaged from initial look. However I'm not expert and I didn't look them over in detail. I'll probably get new tires anyway.

Aside from all that chaos.. my exhaust sounds like it's going to rattle itself to death. I THINK it's the cat failing, but I have no CEL. I picked up a used cat with both O2 sensors and will maybe get around to installing that sometime this week.

Sorry to see all the bad luck but just keep looking up always tomorrow. Lucky you found the set of three though id say thats a huge turn around. I caught the mother of all raccoons last summer on my way to work at 4 am, bent my rad support and made a tin can out of my skid plate so i understand your frustration

Prodrives everywhere

The powdercoat is quite a different hue..

The 3 I picked up are in rather rough shape.. so I may have them refinished. Feels a lot like dejavu.

Did some stuff this weekend... Decided to repair the rash on the set of 3 Prodrives and do the paint work myself to save some money. I was quoted $415 to MAYBE have the 2 bends repaired and I just couldn't justify the cost for a maybe. Way cheaper to just do it myself!

For my first time painting wheels, they came out OK. I could've sanded the spokes a bit better as they're still pretty rough. The spray can isn't the best either, since some of the paint mix had too much black in spots, but eh... whatever. I'll wait a week or so and respray some more clear and see if that'll help some areas.

Tires will have to wait a bit until I have an income. I do have some white OZ Racing decals ordered and currently looking for some wheel caps that fit. I was told some Jeep caps can work. Not sure the validity of that, but I'll check it out.

Why hello there!

Did u warm the cans in hot water for a few minutes and shake them afterward for 2 minutes with a timer? that usually helps A LOT with paint distribution etc.

I did not put them in hot water, but it was fairly warm out. I did shake them for a good minute or so prior to spraying.

I lightly sanded down the Prodrives with 1000grit, put on the decals and resprayed some clear coat. I think they came out pretty well, despite maaaaybe some crooked stickers.

The car got a claybar, slight polish (to get rid of caked on dog drool) and sealant today. The front end still looks okay, despite allllll the chips and ****ed up paint.

Got some tires coming in Tuesday for the Prodrives but I need to patch up some chips I already put on them..

Michelin Pilot Super Sports round 2.

And apparently '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee center caps 'fit' Prodrive P1 wheels. But they are raised a bit.

I have some 'Prodrive by OZ' stickers on the way as well.

Got everything mounted today

Car looks great! The wheel color choice looks perfect with black. Love the updates as well.

If you ever get stuck for center caps again, here are some cheapies that fit my son's 18" P1's perfectly:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I grabbed a set of those, then got some 50mm STi decals from MachV( https://www.fastwrx.com/products/cen...mach-v-awesome ) and then added some clear 50mm "dome" decals from amazon. So far, so good.
