Default Question- Why should I get the STi top mount, with the sedan STi suspension kit.

I hear how the STi top mounts are a great thing to get with the STi kit. My question is why. What do they do exactly. How bad is it without them. Thanks for helping.

The mounts are made of stiffer rubber basically. They help to keep the struts in position as the car corners and such. They are not a must have but I would recommend that you get them since they are relativly cheap.

You might try to imagine a pencil stuck into a twinky (oem strut tops) you will be able to shift it from side to side. Now imagine having the pencil stuck in a brick(Sti top mounts) It will be held stiffer.

I hope this lame example helps answer your question.

Thumbs up twinkie analogy werks

I like that analogy.. I remember comparing the STi and the stockers when the shop was installing the SPT springs and struts.

Its like hugging a Chubby Gal,,,, compared to athletic one.

one might be more comfy but arent we in this for the performance? baby?

im terrible arent I?
