Arrow 4 door 2.5RS owners please read

Just two quick questions:

1) Do your rear windows roll all the way down?

2) Dose the sun roof go into the roof, or dose it stick out (like the coupe)?

thanks

The back windows don't go down completely; I think there's some kind of law about that for cars. Trucks, of course don't have to follow that law.

The sunroof's the same.

The new body style Jetta's rear windows DO NOT go down all the way. The previous body style jettas (93-99) did go all the way down.

Yep, my '96 Jetta GLX's windows travel the way God intended them to - all the way into the door. But that is because VW split the back window into two pieces. A fixed piece over the cut-out, and a rectangular piece over the rest of the door.

The reason that some windows don't make it that far is the design of the rear door. Most of the time, there just isn't enough room in the door for the whole window. Ever notice how the top of the door is a lot wider than the bottom of the door? Its because of the rear wheel-well. Some car designers get creative and have the rear windows "tip" as then near the bottom.

Actually, to my knowledge there is no law saying the windows can't go all the way down. Most cars have rear wheel wells that get in the way and prevent the window from dropping all the way. Car manufactures pass this off as "child-safe" windows, but the truth is they'd probably drop them all the way if they could.

Yup. It's for children who wants to play Mel Gibson jumping off a car.

My wife's 2000 BMW 3 series has windows that go all the way down, so I doubt it's a law unless it's really new.

Ross N.

And NO, I didn't buy it. It was given to her as a graduation present. Heh.

My Legacy's windows "tipped," I thought that was cool.
