Is buying an accessport for NA Impreza worth it?
Cobb does not specify that Impreza models have support thru them. Any help?

Cobb doesn't support N/A cars period. Been there, tried that. Bought a WRX.

They used to have an AP for the manual NA imprezas. Probably pretty hard to find now.

I bought a Cobb AP for my new WRX. Then I got my WRX ProTuned for the price I paid for my AP via EcuTek. Sold AP for 25$ under what I paid for it.

I don't think its worth it but it's good to have for minor performance increase, it can be. I have one. for my Subaru impreza 2008 2.5i hatchback.

I'm still looking for one. My 2004 OBS Impreza has UEL headers and a high flow 200 cell cat with a full borla catback. It uses a MAP sensor and I want the AP before I do the cams, which I want to do when I do the timing belt and pump. I'm almost at 100k kms so I hope to find one soon.

I had a 2015 Impreza with CVT, if you don't have a manual car I can't see the point. You still are going to have a low performance car, any power gain is likely not going to be imperceptible. The cost per horsepower I bet are incredibly high.

Short answer...close to INFINITE REASONS And to say that buying NA is "SIMILAR" price to Turbo'd...not even close to an accurate fact. I have owned THREE WRX's (from 2002 to 2005 models)...all are gone now for some of those "infinite" reasons. I am an old fart..retired and disabled person (without any income or "government help/assistance") and now I drive a NON-TURBO Impreza. Of course I miss my "sporty" cars (WRX)...but maintaining those cars made no sense for a person like me. I still like the FEEL of a sporty vehicle...so from time to time I like to "up-grade" my Daily-Driven NA-Impreza (whenever I find PENNIES that have been misplaced by my children or wife...lol!) *My point...please STOP judging/bashing those Suby-enthusiasts that for whatever reason didn't (prefered to) or COULDN't buy the HIGH-PERFORMANCE machine. An improvement (upgrade) is just that...an IMPROVEMENT/UPGRADE. And then again...I may be wrong in the way I read your comment(if I misunderstood please accept my apology)...but I've been around long enough to see this "TREND" develop...of putting-down or frowning upon the person that doesn't do or follow the on-going NORM or what's POPULAR at the moment. It's a form of BULLYING...on the softer end but bullying nevertheless...like laughing (back in school days) at the kid who wears his older-brother's clothes. *Lets stop this behaviour and bring back the OLD-SUBY-WAYS...when someone asked for help and advice...and that's what they got. Thank you and I'm sorry for further reviving this ancient thread or nearly killing you with this longg write. Cheers |
