Default Cobb Took my money?

Yes I realize that I may have worded that wrong or used the wrong tone. In no way was I trying to bash Cobbs Reputation or insinuating that they were ripping me off. 100% I am in the wrong for that. With that being said I was never worried about not getting my money back because they are such a great reliable brand. That was not the issue. I had just never experienced this before purchasing anything else ever. It seemed contradicting that my card could be declined yet still have the money withdrawn. And I dont exactly need it but would you want to just give away almost $700 for nothing in return? I did call them, was planning to all along, and they were nice and helpful. He said he manually refunded my money so I should receive it much sooner. In which I will place another order. I had just never heard of this happening. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. Thanks

Now tell me how my card "declined" but they still got my information to be able to charge my account? Regardless, Im sure ill get my refund but my issue is now I have to wait DAYS for the refund let alone a reply from customer service. Beyond frustrating. I am going to be calling them later today. Just want your guys thoughts on this or if it has happened to any of you. Thanks guys
Took your money? No. You tried to give them your money and something went sideways. My guess is it would be pre-authorization hold of some sort.

Either way this is something that can be cleared up within a matter of minutes with a friendly phone call to Cobb.

I’ve ordered several times from Cobb and they were good.

So this was a debit card? If not just place another order and cancel the first one?

What they said.

Why is your first instinct to ask for help here, instead of where you're having the problem? Cobb is quite reputable and isn't in the business of ripping people off. Just contact them.

All these things. Call the company you're dealing with. Don't post here about some crazy allegations against one of the most reputable companies out there, excepting TiC of course. Hi Clint!! (or whoever is posting these days)

As TiC said, you tried to give them money, and likely it went through after being declined. I've had this happen many many times with other companies and my credit cards. And why bother with a refund? Don't you want the Accessport? That's what you were trying to do all along anyway.

Was going to lock this up, but decided to leave it open. One more thing to add to Jedi's comment.

If you need money now, maybe buying an AP wasn't the best of life choices.

Buying a new ap in general isn’t the best life choice. You can get the same thing used on these forums for ~$450 shipped.

Or better yet, go open source and use the money saved to get a dyno tune

Agreed with this and all the quotes in his post......

Preauthorization/funds lock is one thing, actually taking money is another.

I started dealing with COBB in the early '90's....maybe 2001?
Pretty much ANY company may put a hold on funds for a purchase. Heck, I do this with my fuel oil company for my house......they do a final charge based on what is pumped.

Be pissed if you want.
Call vendor FIRST!
Post on a forum is no joy.

Sounds like, "ready, shoot, aim".
Again, contact the vendor first, contact again, THEN post on a forum.....

My only issue with COBB.....they have no way for me to flash my '98 ECU......then again, nobody else does.....

Why is this still open? Question answered. No need to keep it open for more drama. There's enough of that around here as it is.
