Let’s not forget the M2C and all other 2 series have been out longer than the Supra. The Z4 however is a verifiable comparison given same Launch period. I could be wrong, but I think the M2C is also sold / built in much more limited numbers.

Yup. Ultimately, we are all playing pretend auto executive and it only matters if the car is hitting their internal numbers from project planning timing.

Sport Auto test driver Christian Gebhardt hit the 'Ring earlier this season with a new 2020 GR Supra when the track was still open to set a lap time on the Nordschleife circuit. He managed a 7:52.17—virtually identical to the lap time he set behind the wheel of an M2 Competition in October 2018, and slightly quicker than the BMW Z4's time of 7:55. The time is, however, 12 seconds slower than Supra chief engineer Tetsuya Tada predicted the car would be capable of.

No, the time isn't exactly earth-shattering, but it's still impressive considering the car's relatively low 335 horsepower. A short wheelbase and a fast-shifting eight-speed auto certainly helped, as did the nice weather during the lap time attempt.

We're curious how much quicker the Supra could go if it were given the 503-horsepower S58 engine from the upcoming M3 and M4. With some real power and more tire, we bet it could dominate the charts.

Exactly. They should have put finger quotes or a smiley face next to that number.

These are not selling in my area........although I’ll admit it’s not a great time to sell a sports car.

What is the 718 CS? The GT4 Clubsport?

Edit: Cayman S. I mean, it is a $19k premium over a base Supra.

Ok, so I checked one of these out today while buying a filter for the wife’s car.

I think I know one reason that’s not helping sell these things: the visibility, or lack of it. I can’t believe none of the reviews I’ve read have mentioned this. I felt like a submarine commander peering through the slits they call windows. Wow, wouldn’t ever consider just due to this. Mustang feels like a greenhouse compared to this.

Also, this car had been sitting for so long the dash light said “replace battery”.

Ouch. I know some dealerships do a "no test drive until we talk numbers" rule for specifial cars, I wonder if they did that for the one you looked at... Or, just nobody cares to ask for a test drive, haha.
