So I could replace both of those....
With all due respect! I would like to point out that the chamfered washer needs to be chamfered side towards the bushing. |

You are correct...
I've noted that as well... Them Australian instructions are not very intuitive .... Still a good catch... |

Wow, this is insane, awesome work! Love seeing these types of builds. Will be curious to read about the ViPec when you hook it up, thinking of using one for a future project I have.
keep it up! Ben |

Build a harness they said..
It will be fun they said... Stripping few connectors from the old GC harness. Few of the tools required... To merely produce this... Last edited by remski; 08-07-2016 at 06:51 PM. |

Still undecided on the coils...
Possible choices are... MCS, Jrz, or Penske... Basically I need somebody that will stand behind their product as I don't have much experience yet with tuning the suspension... |

So.. some long overdue progress....
Finally decided on the radiator stay brackets. A bit thick for my liking but its still aluminum. Also started working on putting the thank together. A small puzzle trying to figure out what vents stay and what vents get blocked. One of the valves with vents melted shut. Lots of time spent de-rusting exhaust pipes. 4 days soaking in vinegar helped a lot. I dont have the before pics.. but there was a nice layer of rust. Next in line is the steering column... Still deciding if I'll keep the turn signals and wiper switches... Since I wanted to use my original key i had to swap the locks... While at it steering wheel lock was shaved as well. Now I feel much safer. |

Do you have more photo's from other angles of the lock? I want to relocate the lock and get rid of the steeringwheel lock..

There isnt much to it.
Once the rectangle piece is shaved flat you'd be able to mount it anywhere on the column (if thats you you want)... considering that doing this wont make the guts fall out. I must say.. it is a heavy piece.. I've been wondering if I should delete it as well... But then you can just drive away without a key... |

Thanks, yeah I don't want to delete it completely. But I want it mounted like a gauge somewhere else in the console of my car. That big metal block must go as well...maybe I should think about another key mechanism but then I have two keys (doors and starting)

Well.. the key is incorporated into the whole mechanism and the contacts are at the end so i doubt there is an easy way to break it apart.
At this point this does not look like a good theft deterrent device. |

Started making slow progress with wiring.
Since I didnt feel like doing splices with the old plugs, decided to put a new connector on the tail light. Few cuts later and those jdm tails now have a new plug. No going back now... Besides sitting and looking for ways to run the wiring, steering column, "brake booster" and clutch got installed. Its starting to look busy... Still deciding if I should ditch the ignition lock..... |

Subscribed. You're lucky to have such friends devoted to time on someone elses build! I'm excited to see the final result.
